“Shanna is great. She has been patient and collaborative in planning for my Roxie's care. We had a meet and greet, then a short daycare stay, then a full day of daycare. She is well versed in dog behavior. My dog, coincidentally a "pitbull type" is often categorized and judged as "vicious or aggressive" even before people meet her. I've had dog sitters on Rover decline to provide services simply because of her breed or her appearance. Shanna understands that Roxie is a dog: a dog with her own level of prey drive (so Roxie is not allowed in her daughter's room cause of the hamster she has); a dog with some anxiety who barked at her husband when he came into the house. They didn't freak out. Shanna understood Roxie's behavior and worked through it, allowing Roxie to get to know her husband, settle and move on. I truly appreciate her family's openness and acceptance. We have two more full days of daycare booked and if all continues well, we will book boarding services. Roxie is people and dog friendly, but the discrimination we have experienced on Rover, leads me to take things in a new daycare/boarding situation slowly. About: I am a Fear Free certified veterinary technician of 13 years who grew up in the show dog world (AKC) before getting into rescue as an adult. Throughout my long-lived animal career I have participated in puppy/kitten/basic obedience training, behavioral rehabilitation, dog sport training, senior care, care for animals with extreme medical needs, and owned/operated a group play doggie daycare. When I could not locate a proper groomer for my shihtzu, I learned how cut my dog’s hair and clip his nails. This includes going for walks, swimming, going to get a puppacino or just cruising in the car and wind surfing! I’ve taken all dog sizes and am physically fit enough to take on larger dogs. I’ve had animals of my own since I was 7 years old. This included ducks, pigs, dogs, cats and geese! I currently have 3 dogs of my own. I love any chance to meet new animals! I live a very active lifestyle and fitness is a huge part of my daily routine. I have 4 dogs of my own and understand how a pet is more than just a pet, they are a family member! I work from home as a seamstress, which allows for my schedule to be very flexible. Last minute bookings to planned bookings work for me! All of my dogs are inside dogs. They are treated with the same care as humans, if not more. Comfort is top priority for my animals and I understand every pet will require something different. No 2 animals are the same and volunteering at the shelter has helped me learn that quickly! I feel I am very good at a reading the situation and would never do anything to make an animal feel uncomfortable.

About: My passion for animals started when I was young. I begged for a puppy at the age ten until I got one. My first pet was a teacup chihuahua, named Teacup, and I absolutely adored her.
