About: I’ve taken care of dogs and pets since as long as I can remember, whether that be my own or my friends and family! I personally have a dog of 14, with a few health issues (including joint issues and blindnesss) so I’m very comfortable and understands with other dogs with those issues, and how to handle and take care of them well! But my real love for cats started when I started working in animals hospitals, and I discovered that I have a knack for handling the more temperamental/fractious cats. “Amanda was very gracious towards our very naughty puppy. Apparently, some of the nervous behaviors that we don’t see at home came out with an unholy flourish at Amanda‘s home. But I appreciate the fact that Amanda gave us a full and honest report (which is helpful for us to gauge the areas he still needs significant training) and was very kind about the negatives. The most important thing, though, was that he settled down in the car almost immediately. Our dog is a very nervous dog, so if he has had a rough time at a dog sitter, we know right away because he whines and whimpers all the way home. After leaving Amanda‘s house, he winded for about 60 seconds and then went to sleep. Hallelujah! Thank you, Amanda, for the top quality care you have given to our very low quality puppy. I am especially grateful that Amanda was willing to take the puppy at the last minute, because my husband had a hospital procedure and I had completely forgotten about making arrangements for the dog. About: I have cared for and loved animals since I was a little girl. I was raised in a house with dogs of all types and have continued to have them in my life. I have two rescues, a 6-lb sweet female chihuahua and a 30-lb shy male terrier mix, that love to be around other dogs but who also are submissive to and respect other dogs’ needs for their own space. Having been a zookeeper and vet tech, I have worked on training various critters, as well as cared for elderly animals that need special attention or medications. I work from home with my husband full time and we are always ready for fur baby snuggles on our couch and bed. We also live near a canal and trails, so dog walks are very frequent in our home. Because we live farther away, we are also willing to come do pickups to keep you from having to drive to us, but we understand completely wanting to see where your pups are staying. I work from home nearly full time except Tuesdays, but my husband is home full time everyday. I am an early riser and can do early walks/pickup/potty breaks. As we are working on house projects due to this being a new and first home purchase, we are gone a ton on the weekends too. If I am staying at your home, I can arrange to be there constantly because my husband is home to care for my pups. I don’t have a fenced yard, but live very close to a dog park that is fenced. I also have a canal trail right off my driveway and we walk our two dogs on it all the time. My two babies are extremely sweet and friendly with other dogs. I am an extremely tidy and organized person, so whether your pup stays with me or I come to your home, I can guarantee I will always leave things as good or better than I found them. Also, if you have any last-minute travel issues, I can almost always adapt to host longer to make sure you don’t have to stress about what will happen to your pup.

One thing I've learned over the years is that every animal is unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to caring for them. I also place a strong emphasis on observation and communication. When I first meet a pet, I take time to learn their normal behaviors and establish a baseline for how they typically act. If I notice anything that seems unusual or out of character, I promptly reach out to the owner to keep them informed. Clear, timely communication helps ensure the best possible care and provides peace of mind for pet owners. Above all, my goal is to create a safe, trusting, and compassionate environment where pets feel comfortable, secure, and well cared for.
About: I grew up with two big German Shepherd huskies and now I have a lab and German Shepherd Husky, and Catahula/B Collie I’ve watched pit bulls as well. Some experience with horses and live stock. Work remote in Cool and have very flexible availability, I can take very short notice jobs and I'm only out of town a few days a month I am someone who runs daily so long dog walks will be fun for me. I can also take dogs to parks if that is desired.
About: I grew up in a home full of 5+ dogs at a single time! I have 8 years of experience in both the child care and pet sitting fields so I am extremely patient. For years I have used Rover myself to receive pet care for my own dog, so I understand the trust you will be putting in me. I will treat your fur-baby as one of my own while you are gone! I’m currently home full-time with my 3 year old son and our 9 year old dog! I have experience distributing medication and will follow your instructions meticulously! We have a home with a backyard for the dogs to play in! Brutus has a lot of toys and actually enjoys sharing them! Potty breaks can be every 0-2 or 2-4 hours, depending on what your puppy needs. Brutus is extremely friendly with different types of dogs but I can also separate them if that is what you request! Since I have a three year old son, I do require meet and greets before I pet sit any new dogs! I also require the dog to be gentle and have no prior aggression towards children. I only watch one dog, or multiple dogs from one home, at a time. I believe that trusting someone to watch your fur babies while you’re gone can be tough so I want to ensure that they have my full attention, love, and care!
About: I have been housesitting and pet sitting for about 6 years now. I love dogs and I have one of my own! I am a very active person so I enjoy going on walks and playing with dogs. When I was about 12 I started to train CCI dogs and I love it so much! I have trained 4 dogs already. I am very familiar with giving pets medication if needed. I love being able to care for others pets because of how much I love my own. I want to provide you with the most thoughtful and loving care to your pets! I am currently working part-time so I have plenty of time to care for your pups! I do have some school obligations but those are also only two days a week for minimal hours. Unfortunately I am not able to host pups in my own home but I will gladly ensure the upmost safety and trust in your own home!
About: I've love animals especially dogs! I don't know what we would do without our furry friends. I have been house sitting dogs and cats for 10 over years. I have total flexibility. I love being outdoors, there are so many fantastic places to take dogs in our area. I am trying to be active as much as possible, so this is a great hobby for me. I give animals lots of affection, exercise, and attention! :) I have no preference in sizes or breeds, but please no dogs that are aggressive in any way. I have lots experience with puppies as well. About: We are a family full of love for pets! My Husband has volunteered at Sammies Friends walking dogs, and at home we have three indoor-outdoor cats, and a Chihuahua named Bella who’s 10 (my Daughter’s). We had to put down our 14-year-old chocolate lab named Yotis a few years ago, and was my Husband’s best friend! My Son’s 12 year old German Shepard Zani passed a couple years ago as well, and she was the best dog addition to this family. We have always had dogs and cats in the home, and all are friends with each other and they each have unique personalities! We have a dog park nearby as well! The oldest cat I have had was a tabby named Chica, and got her at 8 weeks old when I was 16, and she was 15 when she passed!!! Our pets are our fur family and we love them all!!! Kids are all grown up now, and my Husband is gone a lot as a Fire Captain, so I am more than willing and available to housesit dogs and/or cats in your home. It’s a great opportunity to meet new people and pets. My Husband works 3 days on, 4 days off and likes to help with your pets as well. He is a Dog Whisperer, and I am the Cat Lady! We love taking nature walks, and have both been on Rover since before COVID in 2019. I am available at any time due to my kids being older now, amd we don’t currently have a dog of our own. I love getting out of the house and exploring new neighborhoods and areas especially during Spring and summer. We have resided in Nevada County for decades! We don’t dog board due to having too many household members and pets already, but in your home they are taken care of exactly how they should be. With compassion and love.
