About: I’ve been working with all kinds of dog breeds and temperaments for 5 years. Having been a training and using my knowledge on how to build solid foundation and structure to have trust, respect and love from the dogs that I have come to meet. I’m available the majority of the week. This gives me opportunity to have the dogs socialize in groups or on walks during the day. I can drop off or pick up at an owners home if I’m able to, but I’m also open to meet people half way if it makes things easier. Depending on the group I may have that day, I like to have them all in a play group. After I enjoy taking them on walks around the neighborhood or depending giving field trips to the park since I live close by. In the afternoon they get a nap time, usually if they get lunch I wait for them to rest before they revive their food. When nap time is over they return outside, back into play groups. My goal at the end of the day is for the dogs to receive good exercise, enriching social time and enjoy their rest period. A tired dog is a happy dog. “Shanna is great. She has been patient and collaborative in planning for my Roxie's care. We had a meet and greet, then a short daycare stay, then a full day of daycare. She is well versed in dog behavior. My dog, coincidentally a "pitbull type" is often categorized and judged as "vicious or aggressive" even before people meet her. I've had dog sitters on Rover decline to provide services simply because of her breed or her appearance. Shanna understands that Roxie is a dog: a dog with her own level of prey drive (so Roxie is not allowed in her daughter's room cause of the hamster she has); a dog with some anxiety who barked at her husband when he came into the house. They didn't freak out. Shanna understood Roxie's behavior and worked through it, allowing Roxie to get to know her husband, settle and move on. I truly appreciate her family's openness and acceptance. We have two more full days of daycare booked and if all continues well, we will book boarding services. Roxie is people and dog friendly, but the discrimination we have experienced on Rover, leads me to take things in a new daycare/boarding situation slowly. About: I am a Fear Free certified veterinary technician of 13 years who grew up in the show dog world (AKC) before getting into rescue as an adult. About: I’ve taken care of animals of all kinds for over 10 years. For most of those I was working at a pet store where I cared for animals of all kinds, as well as having a lot of my own. I am available 24/7 currently. I can do over night as well as house sitting during the day. Soon I will be enrolling in school so that may change. If a dog needs their own space, I can separate them using a dog gate and provide a comfortable area in my home where they can rest safely. I always monitor interactions between pets and make sure each dog is comfortable and stress-free. When caring for pets in a client's home, I follow their routines as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, exercise, medications, and any special instructions. About: I’ve been working with all kinds of dog breeds and temperaments for 5 years. Having been a training and using my knowledge on how to build solid foundation and structure to have trust, respect and love from the dogs that I have come to meet. I’m available the majority of the week. This gives me opportunity to have the dogs socialize in groups or on walks during the day. I can drop off or pick up at an owners home if I’m able to, but I’m also open to meet people half way if it makes things easier. Depending on the group I may have that day, I like to have them all in a play group. After I enjoy taking them on walks around the neighborhood or depending giving field trips to the park since I live close by. In the afternoon they get a nap time, usually if they get lunch I wait for them to rest before they revive their food. When nap time is over they return outside, back into play groups. Then the process repeats where they get another nap time, play time and then dinner if they receive one. I am also available to work around a specific routine or schedule may have for their own dog. My goal at the end of the day is for the dogs to receive good exercise, enriching social time and enjoy their rest period. A tired dog is a happy dog. Understanding that each dog is different and not all dogs have the same energy level, I try and give each dog the right amount attention they deserve to make them feel fulfilled and happy.
