About: I’ve been working with all kinds of dog breeds and temperaments for 5 years. Having been a training and using my knowledge on how to build solid foundation and structure to have trust, respect and love from the dogs that I have come to meet. I’m available the majority of the week. This gives me opportunity to have the dogs socialize in groups or on walks during the day. I can drop off or pick up at an owners home if I’m able to, but I’m also open to meet people half way if it makes things easier. Depending on the group I may have that day, I like to have them all in a play group. After I enjoy taking them on walks around the neighborhood or depending giving field trips to the park since I live close by. In the afternoon they get a nap time, usually if they get lunch I wait for them to rest before they revive their food. When nap time is over they return outside, back into play groups. Then the process repeats where they get another nap time, play time and then dinner if they receive one. I am also available to work around a specific routine or schedule may have for their own dog. My goal at the end of the day is for the dogs to receive good exercise, enriching social time and enjoy their rest period. A tired dog is a happy dog. Understanding that each dog is different and not all dogs have the same energy level, I try and give each dog the right amount attention they deserve to make them feel fulfilled and happy.

“Shanna is great. She has been patient and collaborative in planning for my Roxie's care. We had a meet and greet, then a short daycare stay, then a full day of daycare. She is well versed in dog behavior. My dog, coincidentally a "pitbull type" is often categorized and judged as "vicious or aggressive" even before people meet her. I've had dog sitters on Rover decline to provide services simply because of her breed or her appearance. Shanna understands that Roxie is a dog: a dog with her own level of prey drive (so Roxie is not allowed in her daughter's room cause of the hamster she has); a dog with some anxiety who barked at her husband when he came into the house. They didn't freak out. Shanna understood Roxie's behavior and worked through it, allowing Roxie to get to know her husband, settle and move on. I truly appreciate her family's openness and acceptance. We have two more full days of daycare booked and if all continues well, we will book boarding services. Roxie is people and dog friendly, but the discrimination we have experienced on Rover, leads me to take things in a new daycare/boarding situation slowly. Shanna has been very reassuring and understanding. throughout the process. I HIGHLY recommend her.”

About: I have always had a dog but I can only attest to caring for those I’ve raised. I’ve raised two labs and a huskie pittie. I currently have a young 1 year old male lab who loves a great play session with another doggy friend. I’ve often dog cat overnight and it gives my pets great socialization opportunities. I currently work full time from home from 8am to 5pm. My dog is routinely walked 1 hours a day with several enticing activities through out my work day. On the weekend I like to take him to the park and hiking if there is no playdate scheduled. I have a fenced yard and the most social dog to keep them company. Plenty of toys and treats. I have two different sized crates and fenced areas to give my cats space when new dogs are visiting.

About: I am a Fear Free certified veterinary technician of 13 years who grew up in the show dog world (AKC) before getting into rescue as an adult. Throughout my long-lived animal career I have participated in puppy/kitten/basic obedience training, behavioral rehabilitation, dog sport training, senior care, care for animals with extreme medical needs, and owned/operated a group play doggie daycare. My jobs, hobbies, and passions are all centered around animals and I can't wait to bring that passion to you! I am home full-time, and available for puppies and animals with heavy needs. I have a fairly set schedule for all of the pets in my care, and that level of routine provides comfort to even the most nervous of pups. I am the only Fear Free pet carer in Bakersfield! I provide comforting classical music as well as calming pheromones in the sleeping spaces to make their stay as stress-free as possible. I have a fenced yard and never leave dogs together unsupervised. I do not provide an environment suitable for animals with a history of dog aggression. Small dogs I can be more flexible with, as their attitude usually comes from a place of fear and that is something I can work with for the little guys.

About: I have had indoor pets my entire life. My late cat, Ninja, was my best friend for 17 years. From coming to me when she was a baby to caring for her during her senior years, I've seen it all. My husband and I now have two Corgis, Winston and Arthur. Both came to us young (Winston as a puppy and Arthur a teen), so I have worked hard to train them to be the relatively well behaved children they are today. Arthur is our little rescue baby, so I'm very familiar with those timid pets. I'm currently working from home on freelance projects, so I'm available on a daily basis. I could do morning, afternoon, and/evening drop ins. Walk times could vary based on heat. We don't want those paws on scorching pavement! Because we have two dogs of our own, we cannot open our home to other pets. In the client's home, maintaining reliability, respect, and safety are of utmost importance. Whatever the client needs for their pet is what I will do.
About: I have taken care of all kinds of animals to include dogs, cats, rabbits, fish, and other exotic pets. I do not have experience with farm animals but I am a quick study. I am able to provide care for senior animals as well as pass medications accurately and on-time. About: I’ve been working with all kinds of dog breeds and temperaments for 5 years. Having been a training and using my knowledge on how to build solid foundation and structure to have trust, respect and love from the dogs that I have come to meet. I’m available the majority of the week. This gives me opportunity to have the dogs socialize in groups or on walks during the day. I can drop off or pick up at an owners home if I’m able to, but I’m also open to meet people half way if it makes things easier. Depending on the group I may have that day, I like to have them all in a play group. After I enjoy taking them on walks around the neighborhood or depending giving field trips to the park since I live close by. In the afternoon they get a nap time, usually if they get lunch I wait for them to rest before they revive their food. When nap time is over they return outside, back into play groups. Then the process repeats where they get another nap time, play time and then dinner if they receive one. I am also available to work around a specific routine or schedule may have for their own dog. My goal at the end of the day is for the dogs to receive good exercise, enriching social time and enjoy their rest period. A tired dog is a happy dog. Understanding that each dog is different and not all dogs have the same energy level, I try and give each dog the right amount attention they deserve to make them feel fulfilled and happy.
