About: I am a Fear Free certified veterinary technician of 13 years who grew up in the show dog world (AKC) before getting into rescue as an adult. Throughout my long-lived animal career I have participated in puppy/kitten/basic obedience training, behavioral rehabilitation, dog sport training, senior care, care for animals with extreme medical needs, and owned/operated a group play doggie daycare. “Shanna is great. She has been patient and collaborative in planning for my Roxie's care. We had a meet and greet, then a short daycare stay, then a full day of daycare. She is well versed in dog behavior. My dog, coincidentally a "pitbull type" is often categorized and judged as "vicious or aggressive" even before people meet her. I've had dog sitters on Rover decline to provide services simply because of her breed or her appearance. Shanna understands that Roxie is a dog: a dog with her own level of prey drive (so Roxie is not allowed in her daughter's room cause of the hamster she has); a dog with some anxiety who barked at her husband when he came into the house. They didn't freak out. Shanna understood Roxie's behavior and worked through it, allowing Roxie to get to know her husband, settle and move on. I truly appreciate her family's openness and acceptance. We have two more full days of daycare booked and if all continues well, we will book boarding services. Roxie is people and dog friendly, but the discrimination we have experienced on Rover, leads me to take things in a new daycare/boarding situation slowly. I've always had cats and dogs. As far as care, I have references upon request. I just moved here with my dogs and significant other from Arizona and want to continue caring for animals while you're away or at work, etc. I treat my dogs like royalty and you can expect the same treatment with your furry babies. I am active and would love to walk, cuddle, feed or whatever you need. My services include drop ins and walking. I have another part time job and am very flexible with availability and time. Every animal is unique so I tailor my schedule and the fur baby’s schedule with what the owner/fur parent prefers and based on each baby’s needs. About: I care for my two pets I have at home. (German Shepard & English Bulldog) I also often care for my sister’s pets when she is away. (Basset Hound, Chihuahua & Dachshund) I am familiar with many different dog breeds & their needs!
