About: I care for my two pets I have at home. (German Shepard & English Bulldog) I also often care for my sister’s pets when she is away. “Rocky can be a picky dog, with humans and dogs. When I dropped him off for daycare I was so nervous that he wouldn’t play nice and would wreak havoc. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I picked him up and they said he did great. By the time we got home, he was snoring away. Jill and Liz did great with Rocky and he will definitely be back! Big plus for sending me a photo after about 30 minutes assuring me he was fine :)”
“Shanna is great. She has been patient and collaborative in planning for my Roxie's care. We had a meet and greet, then a short daycare stay, then a full day of daycare. She is well versed in dog behavior. My dog, coincidentally a "pitbull type" is often categorized and judged as "vicious or aggressive" even before people meet her. I've had dog sitters on Rover decline to provide services simply because of her breed or her appearance. Shanna understands that Roxie is a dog: a dog with her own level of prey drive (so Roxie is not allowed in her daughter's room cause of the hamster she has); a dog with some anxiety who barked at her husband when he came into the house. They didn't freak out. Shanna understood Roxie's behavior and worked through it, allowing Roxie to get to know her husband, settle and move on. I truly appreciate her family's openness and acceptance. We have two more full days of daycare booked and if all continues well, we will book boarding services. Roxie is people and dog friendly, but the discrimination we have experienced on Rover, leads me to take things in a new daycare/boarding situation slowly. Shanna has been very reassuring and understanding. throughout the process. I HIGHLY recommend her.”

About: I am a Fear Free certified veterinary technician of 13 years who grew up in the show dog world (AKC) before getting into rescue as an adult. Throughout my long-lived animal career I have participated in puppy/kitten/basic obedience training, behavioral rehabilitation, dog sport training, senior care, care for animals with extreme medical needs, and owned/operated a group play doggie daycare. My jobs, hobbies, and passions are all centered around animals and I can't wait to bring that passion to you! I am home full-time, and available for puppies and animals with heavy needs. I provide comforting classical music as well as calming pheromones in the sleeping spaces to make their stay as stress-free as possible. For walks I’m available after my shifts or before I am closing. House sitting if you allow me I can leave from your place to my job. About: I began to offer pet-sitting to friends and family just for some dog breath and tail wags in my life after my dog passed away. A family member told me about Rover and - here I am! I know how important pets are to the families they love and how important it is to have peace of mind that they are in good hands while you're away. I will ensure that your fur baby has all that they need while they wait on their favorite human/s to come home. I've taken care of dogs for most of my life. My childhood dog was one of my best friends. We would play together for hours and I was responsible to feed, bathe, and clean up after him. He loved belly rubs and going with us on family walks. I'm very comfortable taking care of senior dogs and dogs with medical needs. When my childhood dog was attacked, I was the one who flushed and cleaned his wounds, changed his bandages, and nursed him back to health after he came home from the vet. He became diabetic when he grew old and I gave him his insulin shots. As an adult, I adopted a pit-mix rescue and we enjoyed obedience training, going to the dog park, car rides for a pup cup, going for walks, and playing tug-of-war. At 14 years old, he was diagnosed with an oral tumor and he needed lots of extra care during his last months. He needed medication 3 times a day, a specialized diet when it became difficult for him to eat kibble, and eventually hand-feeding for him to be able to eat at all. He passed away 14 years old. I wouldn't trade one minute. In addition to dogs, I've taken care of geckos, an iguana, fish, water turtles, parakeets and cockatiels. I'm happy to care for any type of animal. I'm currently working part-time in the morning and would love to spend my afternoons with animals. If you need someone to care for your pet mid-day, we're the perfect match. I provide care where your pet feels safest - in their own home environment. Please leave me detailed instructions so I know where to find their food and food bowl, leash, toys, medications, etc. If you have spacial boundaries for your pet such as not being allowed on the couch or bed, in specific rooms, or if they are outside-dog only, etc., please let me know so I can respect and enforce those boundaries.

About: As someone who has owned pets, I have years of experience in caring for cats, dogs, lizards, bunnies and more! When I could not locate a proper groomer for my shihtzu, I learned how cut my dog’s hair and clip his nails. When I owned cats, I did extensive research on diet to ensure they had all the nutrition they needed. I’m still fairly new to owning bunnies but I have learned a lot from vet visits and testimonials from other bun parents! I work two other jobs but I make my own schedule so I can fit late afternoon and nightly check ins, baths, walks, overnight sitting, and errands into my day if that’s what you’d like. I would love to spend as much time as I can making sure that your pet is well loved and taken care of. As for taking dogs on walks, that would fit naturally into my routine. On my days off, I would have extra time to give the pet more attention and care. Pet care is something I generally enjoy and something I would look forward to doing as well, since it is the career path I’m pursuing. :) care for pets by making sure they have fresh water and are fed the appropriate amount of food, depending on how much the owner usually feeds them. I’ll follow the pet’s daily routine as closely as possible. I’ll make time to take them with me on runs for exercise, provide plenty of playtime, and give them bathroom breaks whenever needed. Respecting my client’s home and space is very important, as is making sure I treat their pet the same way I treat my own dogs!

I have a pretty decent sized apartment, that's CLEANED & SANITIZED DAILY, has AC/HEAT, non-smoking, and always has some toys, blankets, and sanitized food/water bowls ready, just in case the owner doesn't bring them. I also take the pets outside quite frequently, as much as possible honeslty! Also, not just to potty, but to explore the neighborhood, RUN for extended periods of time, and to constantly practice/improve use of commands, and healthy interactions with other people/pets/stimulation we may encounter along the way!

About: I am a Fear Free certified veterinary technician of 13 years who grew up in the show dog world (AKC) before getting into rescue as an adult. Throughout my long-lived animal career I have participated in puppy/kitten/basic obedience training, behavioral rehabilitation, dog sport training, senior care, care for animals with extreme medical needs, and owned/operated a group play doggie daycare. My jobs, hobbies, and passions are all centered around animals and I can't wait to bring that passion to you! I am home full-time, and available for puppies and animals with heavy needs. I have a fairly set schedule for all of the pets in my care, and that level of routine provides comfort to even the most nervous of pups. I am the only Fear Free pet carer in Bakersfield! I provide comforting classical music as well as calming pheromones in the sleeping spaces to make their stay as stress-free as possible. I have a fenced yard and never leave dogs together unsupervised. I do not provide an environment suitable for animals with a history of dog aggression. Small dogs I can be more flexible with, as their attitude usually comes from a place of fear and that is something I can work with for the little guys.
