“I boarded my 20 pound Miniature Schnauzer with Ron for a period of ten days while in Hawaii. My pup is an important part of my family and I want him to feel as if he is also having a vacation while I am away. After carefully researching every available boarding option I decided on Ron. I met Ron for a meet and greet before the actual boarding and his responsible and trustworthy nature was evident. Ron also has a beautifully landscaped and secure back yard. Lastly, Ron's Poodle Lily made an excellent companion to my proportionately sized Miniature Schnauzer. In my opinion, the combination of these qualities make's Ron the best choice for small dog boarding in Tucson. My schnauzer had a joyous time frolicking and cuddling with Ron's poodle while I was away. Ron did a great job of sending photos. The photos showed that my pup was eating, enjoying time on the couch and even cuddled in bed next to Ron's poodle. I received photos throughout my trip (not just the first few days) and these photos convinced me that my pup was having just as much fun as I was. Ron is a primary school teacher which is an occupation that I have much respect for and is illustrative of his good character. Ron also has a love of plants which is evident in his beautiful green yard with lots of shady places for dogs to rest and play. I was also very pleased that Ron has a dog door that my 20 pound schnauzer was able to fit through easily for constant back yard access. Overall, I do not think there is a better choice for small dog boarding in Tucson. My pup actually seemed sad to leave Ron and his poodle Lily. It was a great opportunity for my dog to socialize and play with another well trained dog. My dog came back happy, well exercised and without a trace of anxiety. In conclusion, Ron is a kind, intelligent, and caring animal lover. I would not hesitate to board my much loved miniature schnauzer with him next time I go on vacation. Ron's tranquil home and general attitude make the experience a vacation for your pet.”

“Ashley and her family are the best! We were in town to deal with some business and with varying hours and she happily was very flexible about what time we needed to pick our Lily up! Our dog had a blast and was pulling on the leash to get back to the door when we brought her back after the first day. Ashley provided walks, training sessions,rest time and playtime. Our dog is on a low-fat diet for medical reasons and she conscientiously gave her the treats we brought. She sends several videos during the day so you can see your baby. There were a couple other dogs in care at the same time and she did an excellent job of introducing and monitoring the dogs. Overall a wonderful experience! We don’t live in Tucson but if we ever return for a visit we would definitely use her again and we highly recommend her to others ❤️”
“Our 3 year old greyhound, Rowdy, enjoyed his day at Steve's. For Rowdy it was like getting to spend an entire day at the dog park. He had outdoor sniffing around time, indoor lounging around time (Rowdy's favorite past time) and he even got to ride in Steve's car to the nearby park! Steve is very attentive to each dog's individual needs and quirks, and he has the space for them all to be comfortable (separated, if needed) and he is there, where they can see him, for dogs with separation anxiety, like Rowdy, it's the most important. We recommend you trust your dog to Steve's care.”
About: I've had dogs most of my life. First was Lance, a Springer Spaniel, when i was 4-yrs old. Add German Shorthair Pointers, Weimeraners, Labs, both English and Anerican Cocker Spaniels, terrier mix breeds and my current pup is a Long Hair Chihuahua. Most of my dogs have been shelter rescues. Also, I foster dogs for local shelters. I am retired and spend most of my time at home working in my new garden reading, or crafting. When we have dog guests, our time is devoted primarily to our visitors. Human away time rarely exceeds 4-hrs per day. I have a large fenced yard to run and play in whenever they want Chewy, the Chihuahua, is a friendly companion. Indoors is a dog-friendly/dog priority 3-bdrm home. Plenty of space if a visitor needs some quiet privacy or a mim with pups wants separation. Daily walks add to our exercise regime. Balls, frisbees and dogs are shared. Treats abound!

I have also taken care of close to 70 foster animals mostly kittens, with a few medical fosters, and behavioral issues along the way. I have taken courses on behavioral training for dogs as my own dog is reactive towards dogs, so I am very familiar with dog reactivity. When caring for a pet in their own home, I make every effort to mimic any routines they are used to. This assists in helping dogs feel safe and comfortable, and leads to a better overall experience. I am a very clean person, so it is important to me to keep others' spaces that way as well.

About: I have experience taking care of boarding dogs and cats at an animal hospital. I worked for them for a little over a year and have gotten lots of experience with dogs and cats. I used to raise puppies and train them how to sit and have manners for about two years with my parent. I have dog sitting experience and house sitting experience. I am currently going to school at the UofA full time during the weekdays (my class schedule is listed below keep reading) and would be available most days to come and play with the animals for 30 minutes to an hour in the afternoons and overnight sitting. And on weekends I would be free to play with and walk the animals as needed. Class schedule: Mon 1pm-2pm Tue 9:30am-1pm then 3pm-5pm Wed 9am-2pm then 4pm-5pm Thur 9:30am-4pm Fri 1pm-2pm I do also have a job at the animal shelter for part time. That work schedule will vary but will be no more the 4-6 hours a day. Likely to be on the weekends to avoid conflict with school :) For my personal home, I will not be able to board any pets. Although I am very safe and responsible. My person pet uses a crate just for her safety when I am gone. I am good with crate training as needed for your pets as well. I make sure I clean up after every day and leave the house as clean as I can before you arrive back home to your happy animals!

About: At 55, I have been a pet owner most of my life. When I first moved to Tucson in 2006, my now wife had a husky and tabby cat which we unfortunately lost years ago. Since then we have been mainly cat owners seeing as our house is quite small but I do miss being around, playing with and walking dogs. I am mature but still a kid at heart, flexible schedule, reliable transportation, indoors mostly but loves to be outside and, above all, a lifetime fan of animals. Cheers! Seeing as I work from home and set my own schedule, I can be there when you need, as you need, if you need, all of that. Breaking away from my laptop and house husband duties to hang out with your dog(s) or cat(s) for an extended amount of time is a far better prospect than running errands or checking the mail. Since February of this year, 2026, we are proud parents of a a brother and sister combo of, lets say, rather enthusiastic kittens. It is a small cottage midtown, a safe and loving environment with far too many toys that they sometimes play with, food and water bowls that are always full, I take time out every afternoon to deep clean the house and I even started an Instagram for them that is usually either a) the duo being in the way when we're trying to watch a movie or me cooking dinner or b) chronicling what we like to call "turbo time", aka the zoomies.

“Can we give 100 stars? We went to Hawaii and are pretty sure our dog might have had more fun with Lara than we did on our trip. (Which is hard. The trip was awesome.) ?? Our dog is a dog's dog. He loves playing with others pups, and had the chance to do so all week. Every single video she sent showed him just having the best time with the other dogs-- and he even got to go out with the horses on the road! Our dog has A LOT of food issues and it was worrying that he would get into something (he is unable to eat anything except for his specialized food)-- not a problem. She kept him safe and made sure he didn't have anything he wasn't supposed to. Lara and her family are a true dog sitting gem. I need to plan another vacay just so our guy can stay with them again. Thank you, Lara! Consider us fans for life.”

“We were a little nervous about leaving our dog with someone new, but Lesley was great with our Rosie. It was such a relief to know that Rosie would be well cared for. You can tell Lesley really loves dogs. She opened her home to Rosie and was very affectionate and attentive with her. Lesley checked in with us multiple times over the stay, sending us photos and updating us on how Rosie was doing. She even fed Rosie some chicken when Rosie turned her nose up at her regular food.
