I have experience with various breeds and can tailor my approach to meet the unique needs of each animal. Growing up, I cared for 3 Golden Retrievers, 1 Yellow Lab, and 1 Shih Tzu. For puppies, I focus on positive reinforcement training, helping with basic commands and potty training. For senior pets, I’m mindful of their slower pace and specific health needs, ensuring they're comfortable and active within their limits. Additionally, I understand the importance of routine and consistency, so your pet will feel secure and well-cared for while you're away. Whether it's daily walks, playtime, or administering medication, I can handle a variety of tasks to keep your pet happy and healthy. I have an extremely flexible schedule as an Astrophysics Ph.D. student at the University of Arizona. Much of my research involves software, which makes working from home possible when I am taking care of your pet. My girlfriend works three 12 hours shifts as a nurse at TMC, so she will also be home 4 days a week My apartment is very pet friendly! We have a nice fenced in play area with artificial grass. The entire apartment complex is fenced in, further ensuring the safety of your pet.

Our dog had a blast and was pulling on the leash to get back to the door when we brought her back after the first day. Ashley provided walks, training sessions,rest time and playtime. Our dog is on a low-fat diet for medical reasons and she conscientiously gave her the treats we brought. She sends several videos during the day so you can see your baby. There were a couple other dogs in care at the same time and she did an excellent job of introducing and monitoring the dogs. Overall a wonderful experience! We don’t live in Tucson but if we ever return for a visit we would definitely use her again and we highly recommend her to others ❤️”

About: I have hands-on experience fostering rescue dogs for the past two years—especially puppies. I’ve helped rehabilitate malnourished, abandoned dogs and guided them into loving forever homes. My own dog is a foster fail I nursed back to health at just 2 months old after she was found on the street. Since then, I’ve fostered an entire litter of five puppies, all of whom were successfully adopted. I specialize in caring for young dogs and have a deep understanding of their needs—whether it’s feeding, socializing, crate training, or just giving them the love and patience they deserve. That said, I truly adore dogs of all ages and personalities. I’m currently studying from home, so your dog will never be left alone, and I live near two fully fenced parks for safe, fun playtime. About: I've had animals all my life, they've been a constant joy. I've worked with animals in a professional setting, as an assistant to a Professional Dog Trainer. While working with a Dog Trainer, I've interacted with many different types of animals (even their temperaments at times) such as different dog breeds and sizes, as well as cats. For dogs being trained, as well as those being boarded, I was responsible for feedings, any medications that needed to be administered, crating and uncrating dogs for bathroom breaks, cleaning of all outside kennels and inside crates, I also bathed and groomed dogs before they returned home. Other than dogs and cats, I'm also experienced in working with reptiles, rabbits, fish, etc. I am very careful and respectful to all animals and their environments and schedules. I've also done overnight house and dog sitting for friends and family. Outside of my resume, I truly love animals and enjoy meeting new furry friends. With that said, I look forward to taking care of your fur babies! I also work part-time, as well as from home, & will be able to give your pups all the exercise they need. “Melissa provided wonderful home for my Westie! He was welcomed as part of her family and was obviously very well cared for. This was my first experience with Rover.com & I was very nervous until I met Melissa after interviewing a few others. She made me feel very comfortable leaving my dog for the weekend & sent several updates each day. I don’t think he wanted to come home! Highly recommend Melissa!”
