Before boarding: Alani and her families invited us to do meet-and-greet, asked questions about my dog’s usual routines, sent information about other two dogs mine will be staying with ahead of time. During the stay: Alani sent photos and updates daily. Informed me if anything was unusual. They took her to a dog park when the weather got cooler. Pick-up: They were very accommodating while my flight schedules changed. Alani gave me an update on how my dog stay went, anything she noticed, etc. My dog seemed well-played and happy. I know how to stay engaged with them and also learned through a family dog how to stay calm when they were separated from their owner. I’ve available to care for dogs/cats on any week day and can travel to your location by bicycle or walk depending on distance. About: I've loved all types of animals growing up. We always had a dog. My family raised a rooster, goats, horses, chickens, ducks, and emu's. They had an iguana at one point and my favorite thing was to help care for the animals. At 19, I fell in love with a black short hair rescue cat and I've had cats since. I am currently a caregiver and full time mom. Pet care, in shorter shifts, helps facilitate helping my client and taking the best care of my family. I care for my cats by helping groom them via brush or glove, sift litter daily and change litter weekly. Having several cats means continuous care. Wet food in the morning and evening and dry food set out during the day with a fresh water bowl or fountain. Treats for behavior reinforcement and extra love.
About: I’ve had pets my entire life. My family had a two high energy dogs growing up and even from a young age I would enjoy caring for the two of them. After they passed, I volunteered at my local humane society, working mainly with dogs. When I was about 17, I convinced my family to adopt a puppy. I taught him basic commands, potty training, and basic leash skills. I currently own a cat who is equal parts sweetheart and menace. Being tasked with raising a kitten turned out to have a massive learning curve, but he is absolutely spoiled with playtime, toys, and treats. He is currently being leash trained and we’re working on anxiety associated with his crate. I have a PRN position at a children’s hospital, so I have plenty of time to check in on your baby/babies. I work a short Monday shift from 12-4PM. I have a hybrid pharmacy schedule, so I am able to attend classes from wherever I am. I care for all pets with love and respect. The main goal is to establish trust with new pets by allowing them to approach me with interest on their own terms, even if it takes a while. Providing pets with playtime and attention is a priority after their daily basic needs are met. During the stay: Alani sent photos and updates daily. Informed me if anything was unusual. They took her to a dog park when the weather got cooler. Pick-up: They were very accommodating while my flight schedules changed. Alani gave me an update on how my dog stay went, anything she noticed, etc. My dog seemed well-played and happy.
