Because of the setup here, pups do need to be comfortable being in a kennel/crate at times. The only times I’m briefly away are for church on Sunday mornings (about 9:30–10:30) and the gym on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings for about an hour. During those short times, all dogs are safely kenneled with fresh water, A/C, and cameras for monitoring, so they’re always safe and comfortable. Your dog’s safety and comfort come first. I have a secure fenced yard and kennel space in my house. Dogs staying with me do need to be comfortable being kenneled at times, or at least able to go into a kennel without aggression (puppies still learning are absolutely fine!). About our pets at home: My husband and I have two wonderful cats (1 adopted, 1 we rescued) and two wonderful dogs (adopted by us from the humane society after they were rescued from dire situations, respectively; one of which is a tripod and one is a disabled senior that wears diapers) -- I gravitate especially towards rescues and seniors that need a little extra care, and I especially love cats. I’m a transparent and thorough communicator, and I’ll let you know of any prior commitments that I may have during a house stay request. I also do real-time check-ins/updates, so you’ll always know how your pet is doing, what we’re up to, and when I am present and when I leave your home. My day-to-day work/school is remote and flexible, so I can choose my own hours and follow your pet’s daily routine (waking/sleeping/feeding, etc.), and give them lots of both active, attentive quality time (undivided attention playing with them, walking them, petting them, brushing them, caring for them, etc.) and hangout time (for example, sitting on the couch together). Whenever possible, I can take short-notice and same-day requests. I have evening classes most weekdays for ~2-4 hours, depending on the day, and occasional performances on weekends, but typically no other scheduling commitments from May to September annually. From September through May (9 months, Fall to Summer), I am unavailable Saturdays and some Fridays (mostly First Fridays) due to our performance schedule. For a healthy pet that can be safely left alone, I still always spend as much time with them as possible and only leave the house for meals (and/or can bring food) and/or class, an occasional errand, depending on how long the stay is. I arrive well-prepared to minimize the need to exit the home. I will discuss my availability and your pet's needs in detail before accepting a booking to be sure it is mutually a good fit. For any booking, your pet’s care and safety is my primary responsibility and I take my duty of supervision and care with the utmost seriousness (don’t worry, I’m also fun!). I also care deeply for their emotional well being, so while I have to be realistic about my own schedule and needs (my classes, the need to eat, etc.), I don’t leave them unattended or lonely for any longer than I have to. In your home or on a dog-walk, I will give your pet(s) my full attention to their safety, well-being, and happiness. I am consistent and committed to staying up to date on the latest behavioral and scientific/medical knowledge. I am thorough and I carefully follow directions and will ask for clarification if needed to ensure I am prepared for your pet's specific care. I am experienced and knowledgeable, and you can trust me in your home and with your precious pets. If they have a special need that I am not qualified for handling or have experience with, I will be honest and not overstate my skills (I want your pet to be in great hands with the best fit possible as much as you do). I am gentle, calm, and kind, and can also be silly/fun/playful/energetic, or very quiet; I try to adapt to your pet’s personality, comfort, and needs. I've worked with a range of pets, from quiet seniors and calm cats to rambunctious puppies, giant-breeds, and anxious pets. And while I love them all, I most especially gravitate towards cats, seniors, and differently-abled pets. I unfortunately cannot care for your pets in my own home (such as daycare or pet sitting in my home) because I have four of my own at home with special needs and routines. (Note that when I’m away on a house stay, they are in great hands with my husband, so while I miss them dearly when gone, my own pets are very loved and looked after.) ***I’m not accepting puppies at this time due to my varied availability/classes, or most Large/Giant breeds only because I’m healing a neck/shoulder injury; I'm not assuming about your pet that they pull on a lead, but I want to ensure I could safely carry/transport them in the event of an emergency.***

I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust, and I strive to provide a safe, loving, and stress-free environment for every dog in my care. One thing that sets my care apart is that I only accept one family's booking at a time. While I may care for multiple dogs from the same household, I do not mix dogs from different families. This allows me to provide more individualized attention, maintain a calm environment, and ensure your dog feels safe and comfortable during their stay. I have experience caring for dogs of different ages, personalities, and needs, including senior dogs and dogs requiring oral or injectable medications. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, cuddles on the couch, or simply a calm place to relax, I tailor their stay to what makes them most comfortable. While we live in an apartment, your dog will receive multiple daily walks, exercise, potty breaks, and plenty of attention throughout the day. I know being away from your dog can be stressful, so I provide regular photo updates and communication throughout their visit. About: Throughout my life, I have raised and trained multiple puppies and taken care of dogs of all sizes and ages! I’ve spent my days walking, feeding, bathing, training, and loving my cattle dog and shepherd mix named Moose for the last two years. I also regularly sit for a miniature schnauzer named Gandalf the Grey and for a tabby cat named Ronnie! I am experienced in basic skills training and loving all kinds of little furry friends! I’m currently working part-time as a student, so I have ample time to check in and take the best care of your little loved ones! In my home, I regularly clean and refill the water and food bowls and keep my furry baby on a yummy and clean diet! He gets at least an hour of play and two walks a day, so we get his energy out and get him some healthy exercise! Whenever he is given toys, he is supervised at all times.
About: I have taken care of various animals throughout my life! I am a volunteer at the humane society, so I’m around dogs a lot! I love animals so much and enjoy taking care of them a lot!
