I am really inspired by Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary and one day I hope to open my own animal sanctuary, but Rover will have to do for now. I have room in my schedule to walk dogs as needed and take care of any animals and stay overnight with them! About: I am super flexible and comfortable with dog care. I currently have an energetic young german shepherd so I understand the importance of dogs getting lots of exercise so that they can relax throughout the day. The main breeds I have experience with are Labs/Retrievers, German Shepherds, Beagles, Mixed Breed herding dogs, and Horses! I understand when dogs want to play and when they need their own space to relax. I currently have a german shepherd that I exercise twice a day either by walking, hiking, fetching or chasing hose water. Typically, I do one of these activities in the morning and one in the evening. My dog is free fed throughout the day, but I am familiar with dogs that prefer the routine of scheduled feeding or don't have self control, so I am comfortable following the routine that the dog is used to. I have a great walkable neighborhood, but I am very familiar with great places to walk and hike with dogs throughout the city. I am a grad student with lots of flexibility so my schedule is different from week to week, during the summer I will have lots of time each day to spend with your pup, but during the year I will provide excersize but less one-on-one time. I have a fenced in yard and a 1900 square foot home with hard surfaced floors. I don't allow my dogs on furniture, but if your dog is used to it, that is not currently a concern. My fences are sturdy and chain link, and about four feet tall. I prefer dogs that are crate trained overnight, and am happy to provide my own crates for them to sleep in. If they are not, I would happy to set up a play pen environment for them to be in!

Never in my 23 years of life have a met an animal I couldn’t work with, including the mean old cat my mother inherited. I have so much experience with animals from puppies/kittens to senior dogs/cats including their different needs and type of care and can’t wait to learn even more!! *If possible, I do request proof of up to date vaccinations and preventions (flea, tick, heartworm and worm)* Since moving to Tuscaloosa, I’ve gotten a job at a vet clinic and my boyfriend (Mason) attends UA. He loves animals just as much as I do and we will always have them in our home! Our schedules are very flexible and someone is almost always home:) My dog Tug is a GSP (German shorthair pointer) and is absolutely rotten! He loves going to the dog park and is very friendly and loves meeting new people and friends!! With that being said we can always take them to the dog park if allowed and play with them in the backyard and definitely go get pup cups! I will not be alone any of the time for my safety and the animals safety, I will always have help and support!

I am also an AKC affiliated dog breeder of two years! I a college student who does online school so I’m available to care for your pets 3-4 times a day if desired. I usually am free any time of the day to come take your dog for a walk, check on them, or stay over night! I do live in a mobile home with three Goldens. The downside is I do not have a fenced in back yard, but the upside is I’m with them 16-24 hours of the day until their owners arrive back home! If a client ask me to stay at their home I usually follow their instructions with how many times they want me to come and if they want me to stay overnight! 🫶🏼

I want to be able to prioritize your pet's needs whether that looks like 1+ hour walks/ enrichment time or special feeding times and instructions. Your pets comfort is my number 1 priority. I love to go on long walks, go to the dog park, or used the fenced in dog space in my neighborhood to allow our babies the time they need to play and get the enrichment that they need. A pet is always welcome to make themselves at home in my space even if that means that I have to adapt certain things to their needs like assistance getting in bed for puppies and elder dogs or making sure that their favorite toys are always available for them to play with.

I am a student at the University of Alabama, with classes from 11-3 Monday-Thursday. I am able to care for your pets most of the time outside of that window, including in the morning. I live in a house with three friends who are also big dog people. I am also able to drive to your house and provide care to your dogs there.
