“Kellie and Andy were great and our black lab Alfie absolutely loved his time with them. They were very quick to reply and also asked questions to understand what Alfie needs in order to take best care of him. We got daily updates which were lovely - Alfie seemed so happy. It went so well that we’ve rebooked for our little boy to stay with them again. Would definitely recommend them, they are lovely 🐾 ♥️”

“This was our first time using Rover.com as we have been lucky enough to have friends and family members look after our 11 year old cockapoo Rosie in the past. I was a little nervous to leave her with someone new however, I got in touch with Leigh and after a brief chat we took Rosie to meet her at her home. Leigh and her family were welcoming and lovely and keen to know Rosie’s specific needs. She stayed with Leigh for 6 nights and we had daily updates and photos which reassured us and put our minds at rest. Rosie seemed perfectly happy and settled with Leigh and her family in their home. Communication was prompt and regular and when we picked Rosie up, Leigh seemed genuinely attached to Rosie and it seemed like that had both had a lovely time together. We would use Leigh again without a doubt and would recommend her highly to anyone who is need of a dog sitter.”

“Pippin was very well looked after by Leonidas and seemed to have a lovely time and came back very happy and tired out! We appreciated the daily updates and easy communication. Many thanks!”

“Jas is super friendly and welcoming. I felt very comfortable leaving nala with him and received plenty of updates. She came home a happy tired dog. Would 100% book again”

“Casper had an amazing time with Nathalie and her lovely dog, Tilly! I couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter during the month-plus I was away. Nathalie took such great care of my fur-baby, she kept me updated regularly with thoughtful messages, adorable photos, and fun videos that really put my mind at ease. It was clear that Casper felt right at home. I’m so grateful to have found someone so kind, reliable, and attentive. Highly recommend!”

“Jess took exceptional care of Charlie, ensuring he was well-fed, exercised, and loved. Daily updates and photos gave me peace of mind while I was away. My dog was happy and relaxed when I returned, a testament to the attentive and caring service provided. Highly recommended!”

“Sarah is amazing. Cooper settled straight in and adores Sarah. Sarah was brilliant at sending updates. I felt very comfortable with leaving Cooper in the knowledge he was well looked after. He made new friends and will miss them (until the next time!) I would highly recommend Sarah.”

“Lauren was amazing with Daphne. She’s usually cries a lot when I leave her but she was fine with Lauren. We got lots of updates through the stay and she seemed very at home.”

“Fantastic, thank you Jude. Bella seemed to be perfectly looked after and it was lovely to receive photos of her whilst we were away. Highly recommended, in fact we've already booked Bella's next stay!”

“We had full confidence in Jackie and Amanda the moment we met them. They are obviously experienced and genuine animal lovers. They took care of our treasured Cocker Spaniel Louis for 10 days whilst we were abroad and kept us fully updated with photos and messages each day which gave us complete peace of mind. I would absolutely recommend! Thank you again Jackie and Amanda.”

“As always, Teddy had an amazing time. Teddy can't wait to visit again. It's nice to know that we can go away and relax knowing he is safe and having fun. I would recommend to anyone.”

“Alessia looked after to Simba very well. Our Simba had a great time, she seems very relax on the photos. Alessia is very good at communication.Lots of photos and messages :) Highly reccommended!!! Need to book another holiday..”

“My dog spent a lovely weekend with Anna and her husband, I was kept up to date and sent photos. My dachshund doesn't like new people but took to Anna instantly. I was happy knowing she was loved and well looked after while we attended a wedding.”

“Corinne did a fantastic job watching Poppy. She gave frequent and detailed updates with pictures and videos. I could tell that Poppy was being cared for well and that Corinne was attentive to her needs. Thank you so much for watching our lil Poppy 😊”

“Fiona looked after our girl Bear for 5 nights and we can’t recommend her enough. She is obviously very experienced, and we could relax on our holiday knowing that Bear is in the best hands. We only ever left Bear with family before, so we were initially little bit worried about leaving her with someone, but after our Meet&Greet we were sure Fiona was the right person. Her home is beautiful, with big garden, near lots of fields, and she had her own crate which saved us bringing our own one. We received regular updates and pictures from Fiona, and Bear was having great time on her walks and playing with her new doggie friends. Our pup accidentally cut her paw on walk and Fiona cleaned and bandaged her wound and even offered to take her to our vets. We are very happy with Fiona’s care, and will definitely use her again.”

I would definitely use her again, especially as she is so local”

“Megan looked after our cat Mabel recently and we cannot thank her enough! Megan went above and beyond for Mabel and treated her like royalty! As if Mabel were her own cat. About: I have a Foundation Degree and Level 3 qualification in Animal Management, with a strong understanding of feline welfare, behaviour and care. I’ve also regularly cat sat for friends, family and others over the past eight years, caring for cats with a range of personalities and needs.

About: I've had my own cat, Milo, for 4 years now, he is truly part of the family. He has a very big personality, and, like most cats, he is convinced that he owns the house, and to be honest, he is right. We simply live here and follow his rules. Having Milo has taught me how much cats have their own little personalities, routines and ways of showing affection. I love getting to know each cat's unique character and making sure they feel happy, comfortable and cared for.

About: Although I’m new to professional pet sitting, I’ve always been very comfortable around cats and have spent plenty of time caring for and interacting with them. I’m reliable, caring and will treat your cat as if they were my own, making sure they’re happy, safe and well looked after while you’re away. I’m also very happy to follow your usual routines and instructions so that their time without you feels as normal and stress-free as possible.

About: I am lucky enough for my friends and family to have chosen me to care for their furry friends when they are away from home, some local, some further way. For many years I volunteered at Woodgreen Animal Shelter and Cats Protection helping care for their animal guests. I love walking outside in nature with my doggie friends, come rain or shine and having cuddles with cats and other animals when they decide its human time. I love the unique personality each animal has and seeing that grow as they become confident around me. I am currently self employed and can adapt my schedule to ensure I have plenty of time to walk, and play and care for your animals. I feel its very important to follow your guidance for the care of your animals, (and your home) and ensuring consistency of the day such as rules, meal times, walks, medication times, etc. I am very confident in caring for a range of animals with differing needs and temperaments. I have worked with animals for over 20 years in a range of capacities including owner, carer, healer and animal communicator. I am qualified in Animal Healing (& teach this), Bach Flower Remedies for Animals and Animal Communication.
About: I have been lucky enough to share my life with pets since I was little. My family currently consists of me, my partner, our two cats and two gerbils (so those relationships need managing well!) I regularly look after other animals as well including cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, and rabbits. The tasks I do when caring for them include feeding, playing, cleaning, cleaning up after, walking, and cuddling! “Leigh came to meet my dog before my dog’s stay - much appreciated. The weather was extremely hot so she kept her cool and safe. Leigh kept in touch during the day and was considerate and flexible with pick up time.”

About: We have both been around dogs for as long as I can remember and have cared for all kinds of personalities — from bouncy, energetic walkers to calm, cuddly sofa companions. Friends, family and neighbours have trusted me to walk, feed and look after their dogs, and I genuinely love spending time with them. We have my own rescue pup who is around 7 years old and happy to have company. We are reliable, patient and always make sure dogs feel safe, happy and relaxed while their owners are away. Whether your dog needs long sniffy walks, playtime, routine and structure, or just plenty of fuss and reassurance, they’ll be treated like one of our own. We offer home boarding in a relaxed, family environment where dogs are truly part of the household. We work opposite shifts meaning dogs are never left for long periods and always have company, routine and attention. We are very lucky to have various outdoor areas around our house that dogs can explore freely. It is secure so even on hot days where a walk isn’t possible, we have a large secure sheltered paddock where we can walk and play with the dogs. I am a wellbeing dog handler for Hertfordshire fire and rescue so I have had the best training from dogs trust in various areas and have up to date skills and knowledge from all up to date research. Daily walks/play and cuddles are absolutely non-negotiable. Your dog’s safety, comfort and happiness are our top priorities. Our home has ample space, including additional separate areas if a dog needs extra room, quiet time or a slower introduction. We have a 9-year-old dog, Rolo, who is playful, friendly and happy to have company with the right introduction. All introductions are done calmly and carefully, and dogs are never left unattended together. If needed, dogs can be comfortably separated in their own space. We follow routines closely, are careful with feeding, walks, doors and supervision, and we always provide regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your dog is safe, settled and well cared for.

“A fantastic dog sitter who was so accommodating and kind. This is our second time booking and we will definitely be booking again. We were updated throughout the day with photos and a couple of videos and it was so lovely to see. She is very responsive to messages and has taken superb care of our boy. Thank you again! He had the best day 🐶 🐾 ❤️”

About: I’m a pet sister from Hong Kong, now living in the UK for the third year. I moved here with my four cats, who are now 6 to 7 years old. After settling down, I adopted a 1.5-year-old Border Collie. I truly love all my pets—they’re my family. Pet care is a big part of my daily life—it’s not just a job, it’s something I truly enjoy. Every day, I plan my schedule around the needs of the pets I care for, whether it’s morning and evening drop-in visits, regular walks, or spending quality time with my own pets at home. I make sure to stay organized so that each pet receives the attention, exercise, and care they need. Being around animals brings me joy and keeps me active, so I always look forward to every visit or walk. When providing drop-in visits or dog walking services, I always make sure pets feel safe, loved, and respected in their own environment. I carefully follow each owner’s instructions, whether it’s feeding, cleaning, giving medication, or following a specific walking route or routine. I take time to build trust with each pet, using calm energy and gentle care so they feel comfortable around me. During walks, I stay alert and prioritize their safety at all times—avoiding busy roads, checking their body language, and ensuring they’re always on-leash unless instructed otherwise. I treat every pet like family, and always keep owners updated with messages and photos so they know their furry friend is in good hands.
About: I have had both cats and dogs in the past, from Akita X Ridgeback, English Bulldog, Husky, Whippet X Saluki X Collie, as well as a lovely cat for 10 years. Dogs have ranged from puppies, young (cheeky and teething) dogs to elderly, so I have experience with all ages! I absolutely adore both cats and dogs amd enjoy training with treats and taking them for walks. Unfortunately, with travelling into the office twice a week, it's not feasible for me to have a pet of my own now but I would love to look after your fur baby and treat him/her like my own. They'd get lots of cuddles and attention! I currently work full-time and work from home Wed-Fri. I would love some company during the day and would love to look after your fur baby! I have a small garden and a very large park around a 2 minute walk from me to take them for a walk at lunch time. I'll treat them like my own and give them all the attention and cuddles they need. I have a small enclosed garden at the back. If you have any specific requests in regards to looking after your pet, please let me know and I can accommodate.

Adventure-ready dog walkers - Ashwell
Prices are estimates per walk for 1 dog. Pricing may vary based on your search and includes a booking fee of 11%.

About: I previously had a wonderful senior dog, so I understand that not every dog wants (or can manage) long walks. As he got older, we adapted his routine to suit him, with shorter, gentler walks and plenty of time to sniff and explore at his own pace. He was also deaf in his later years, so I became very aware of how important it is to approach dogs calmly and thoughtfully to avoid startling them. That experience taught me to be patient. Whether your dog is young and full of energy or enjoying their senior years, I'll always take the time to get to know them and make sure they feel safe, comfortable and happy. I'll be available Friday to Sunday evenings, making me a great option for weekend walks, drop-in visits or evening care. I'll always make sure your pet gets the time, attention and care they deserve, and I'll keep you updated throughout. Your pet's safety and happiness will always come first. I have a fully fenced, secure garden where dogs can safely enjoy some outdoor time. I'll always follow your pet's usual routine, whether that's feeding times, medication, favourite walking routes or any little quirks that make them unique. I understand that every pet is different, so I'll take the time to get to know them and make sure they feel safe, comfortable and loved while they're in my care.

I understand how important it is to know your pets are safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. I’m experienced with dogs of different sizes, and energy levels, and I’m happy to tailor walks and care routines to suit your pet’s individual needs — whether that means long active walks, slower paced strolls, playtime, feeding routines, medication support, or simply providing companionship and reassurance. I pride myself on being dependable, communicative, and attentive. I’ll always keep you updated with messages and photos so you can feel confident your pet is in good hands. Services I offer include: • Dog walking • Drop-in visits • Pet sitting • Feeding and fresh water • Playtime and companionship • Regular updates and photos I know every pet has their own personality and routine, and I take the time to make sure they feel comfortable, secure, and cared for. I work from home so am available at short notice and for regular visits. Can’t wait to hear from you! I work from home Monday - Thursday and can happily fit in walks or pop ins during the day. I would also be happy to keep your pets company for longer periods during the day (so long as I can use your wifi and you are happy for me to bring my laptop!). I can be available evenings and Friday-Sunday on request but would need some more notice to fit this in. I have experience training and walking my incredibly lively beagle. I am confident with any care instructions, feeding and toileting habits (no judgement here!). I would treat your home and your pet as if they were my own!
About: I offer reliable local dog walking and drop-in visits, keeping your pets happy, active, and well cared for while you are away or at work. I have owned and loved dogs for years and have personally fostered rescue dogs, including assisting with specialized hydrotherapy and physiotherapy care for a foster dog's rehabilitation. In addition to caring for household pets, I have practical hands-on experience in animal husbandry through my volunteer farm work, which has a strong focus on animal welfare and hands-on education. This rich background gives me great confidence, patience, and a calm, clear understanding of animal behavior, special medical or physical needs, and routine. Whether it’s an energetic walk or a quiet drop-in visit to check food, water, and play, I treat every dog with the highest level of care and attention. As a single mum, my pet care schedule is designed to fit perfectly around school hours. I am primarily available for dog walking and drop-in visits during the daytime on weekdays. This setup allows me to give your dog my full, undivided attention while you are busy at work. I am flexible, reliable, and will always do my best to accommodate your dog's regular feeding, walking, and toilet routines. Because I offer walking and drop-in visits, your dog stays completely comfortable and secure in their own familiar environment. When visiting your home, I am highly respectful of your property and security routines. On walks, your dog's safety is my absolute priority. My background in farm animal welfare, fostering, and canine rehabilitation (including physiotherapy) means I am highly vigilant, patient, and completely confident handling dogs with special medical or behavioral needs.
About: I'm a remote worker with a flexible schedule, which means I can commit properly to house sits. There's no rushing back and forth, and no leaving pets alone for long stretches. Since I work from wherever I am, your home and animals get consistent company and attention throughout the day. I grew up around animals of all kinds, including dogs, cats, horses, rabbits and more, so caring for pets isn't new to me, it's second nature. On the dog side specifically, I've got hands on experience across the full size spectrum, from sausage dogs to Great Danes, so whether you've got a lap sized companion or a gentle giant, I know how to look after them properly, from exercise needs to feeding routines and everything in between. I have my own car, so I'm happy to travel to sits further afield, handle vet runs or emergencies if needed. I also offer cleaning as an additional service ahead of your arrival home. I'm happy to provide references on request. I'm an active person, so pet care fits naturally into my day. I like to start with a walk before my working day begins, then fit in another towards the end of the day, adjusting timing and length depending on each pet's exercise needs. Throughout the working day itself, since I'm remote, pets have company and I'm on hand for feeding, playtime, or anything else that comes up. Whether I'm in a pet owner's home or my own, my priority is keeping to the animal's normal routine as closely as possible. Changes in environment can be unsettling for pets, so I make a point of sticking to their usual feeding times, walk schedule, and any habits they're used to, rather than imposing my own. Before a sit, I like to go through everything with the owner: feeding amounts, any medication, behavioural quirks, vet details, and emergency contacts, so I'm fully prepared and know exactly what to do if something unexpected comes up. I treat the home with the same care and respect I'd want shown to my own, keeping it secure, tidy, and exactly as I found it. I'm happy to send regular updates and photos during a sit, so owners have peace of mind while they're away. And since I have my own car, I can get to a vet quickly if there's ever an emergency.
“Kelsey was great, Willow really liked her, she was great at helping her get over her nerves at the beginning of the walk. Really punctual, Willow seemed to have a lovely time, would definitely recommend :)”

“Jessica walked our dog Mikey while we were away for a couple days. She was always very easy to communicate with, sent lots of pictures and made us feel at ease. Will be using her in the future. ;)”

About: Hi Everyone, I know how important it is to have your furry family members looked after when you’re away from home. It can be a very anxious time. I decided to offer a dog sitting service so I could help other owners like me have a trusted and experienced animal lover look after their dogs with the love and care they deserve. Speaking from experience, when you're away from home, you want to know your fur babies are being loved and treated as if you were there! My mum, Jackie has joined me on this venture and so no matter what, we will always be available to help! We both work remotely in Finance and luckily have extremely flexible hours to suit your needs. We have 4 cats of our own (Luther, Wilbur, Phoebe and Doris). We rarely ever call them by their names as we’re always talking silly with them! Luther is a diabetic so we’re experienced with administering medication and injections. We also have 2 dogs that are rescues from Romania! I’ve previously volunteered at Blue Cross helping the various cats and kittens - such a memorable experience! We’re happy to cover Baldock and many surrounding areas so do get in touch. Your furry guys will be treated as if they were our own and I can tell you now ... they live better than we do!! :) During our visits, we would spend as much time as needed making sure your doggos were happy. We'd have a long play and a cuddle but along with that would go feeding, water bowl changing, giving treats (if allowed of course!) and pictures and video updates while you’re away. We will happily provide the best service that will keep your mind at ease about your fur baby. We will also send multiple updates per day as well as adorable pictures of your adorable pup!
I am attentive and always aim to ensure the pets are healthy, and feel loved and happy. I work from home and my schedule is very flexible and determined by me, so I have plenty of time to set aside to care for your animal(s)! I am adaptable, so should you wish me come to your house to care for your pet(s) I will ensure I have a full list of any requirements so they are well cared for. If you wish for your pet to stay with me in my home, they can socialise with my fur babies or I can keep them in separate rooms from my cats if necessary. If you have a dog that sleeps in a crate I am happy to accommodate that too.

“Jas is super friendly and welcoming. I felt very comfortable leaving nala with him and received plenty of updates. She came home a happy tired dog. Would 100% book again”

About: I’m a genuine animal lover with hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats, and I truly enjoy spending time with animals of all personalities and sizes. Although I’m just starting out as a professional pet sitter, I’ve spent years looking after pets for friends, family, and neighbours. I’ve cared for dogs ranging from small to large breeds, helping with feeding, walks, playtime, and keeping them company while their owners are away. I also have plenty of experience with cats. I previously lived in a house share with a rescued cat, who I helped care for daily. My mum has a cat, and I regularly look after him whenever my mum is on holiday or when they come to visit me. In addition, I often help neighbours by providing house-sitting services for their cats — feeding them, cleaning litter trays, and spending time playing with them to make sure they feel comfortable and cared for. I’m responsible, reliable, and organised. I understand how important it is for pet owners to feel confident that their pets are safe, happy, and well cared for, and I treat every animal as if they were my own. I’d love the opportunity to look after your pet and make sure they feel relaxed, loved, and well looked after while you’re away. I work full time, but pet care fits very naturally into my routine. I’m available on weekends, and I also occasionally work from home, which gives me additional flexibility during the week. On working days, I’m happy to do house visits before or after work, and in many cases even during my lunch break. This allows me to provide consistent care such as feeding, playtime, litter tray cleaning, walks, and general check-ins. I plan my schedule carefully to make sure each pet receives reliable, attentive care and quality time. I understand how important routine is for animals, and I always aim to fit pet care around their needs while keeping owners updated and reassured. I tailor my care to each pet’s individual needs and routine, whether I’m caring for them in my home or visiting them in their own home. The services I offer include feeding, playtime, walks, and cleaning litter trays. I make sure pets are well fed, exercised, mentally stimulated, and feel comfortable and relaxed while in my care. I always follow the owner’s instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, walking routines, and any special requirements. In my home, pets have access to a large, secure fenced garden where they can safely play, explore, and enjoy outdoor time. Indoors, I provide a calm and welcoming environment and make sure pets receive plenty of attention and companionship. When caring for pets in their owner’s home, I focus on maintaining their usual routine so they feel secure. This includes feeding, walks or playtime, cleaning litter trays, and spending quality time with them to ensure they feel comfortable while their owners are away. My priority is always to make sure pets feel safe, entertained, and well cared for.
“Hannah was so great with our little Alfie - she was interested to understand what he likes / dislikes first, agreed to do a meet up to make sure it’ll all work smoothly and Alfie had a fun time staying with them. Also very quick replying and very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely book again and would recommend! 😊”

About: I’ve cared for dogs for several years and have experience with different breeds, including bulldogs and huskies. I also have a dog of my own, so I’m very familiar with daily care, walks, playtime, and giving dogs lots of attention and love. Im currently working part time around 3 to 4 days in the week. I am almost always available on weekends especially on Sunday's but i am willing to work around to help look after your pets I’m a pet owner myself and have a small dog who loves spending time in our fenced backyard and going on daily walks. She would enjoy having a walking buddy to keep her company. I live in a house so your dog would be cared for in a loving, safe, and spacious home with plenty of attention and room.
About: Some of my earliest and kindest memories are of growing up with two amazing black labs. Not a year has gone by since without dogs playing a big part in my life. From having then as pets through to dogsitting as I grew up, I adore spending time with our furry four-legged friends. I have a friendly and sociable labradoodle called Ellie who will put any visiting friend at ease; be it playing in the garden or snoozing together on the sofa while I read. I'm currently working flexibly from home so am able to spend most of my day with your dog. I have several parks nearby where I can take them for walks however often they need, plus a back garden they can relax in. We have a very pet-friendly home (it was necessary for our own dog, Ellie!). The back garden is fenced with both sun and shade. I'll always tailor the environment to suit your dog, ensuring they are comfortable and happy while staying - be it a quiet space to sleep, or if they prefer sleeping in the bedroom with me.
“Brad and Chloe are the best. We feel so confident that Nebula is having a great time with them and their pups. They are kind, thoughtful and great with communication. We can rest easy when she’s with them.”
