Whether you’re out for a coffee morning with friends or you’re just popping in for a quick caffeine boost before walkies, these spots are guaranteed to become new favourites in no time.

Right in the heart of the city, Boston Tea Party is a great place to relax for all the family. Dogs and children are always welcome—perfect for mums out shopping with their two and four-legged babies!
They have a classic cafe menu with brunch options ranging from Sourdough Eggy Bread to a full English Boss Breakfast, as well as burgers, sandwiches and salads for all-day eats. Along with plenty of coffees and loose-leaf teas, if you’ve got a sweet tooth there’s also a selection of delicious milkshakes and smoothies, such as Mango Lassi and a Kefir Colada.

At Cafephilia, no dog is ever left outside—all the staff love their regular four-legged visitors and have plenty of water bowls to hand, as well as a stash of biscuits behind the counter. Customers will love the cafe’s funky interior and relaxed atmosphere where your dog will feel right at home. Plus, this independently-run cafe is right by Moseley Park, making it the perfect stop for a pick-me-up after a run around the lake or a game of fetch.
While your doggo munches on his treats, you can treat yourself to an array of cakes, smoothies, milkshakes, paninis and salads. And if you’re feeling creative, the cafe also hosts a regular spoken word night where you can perform your innermost musings or get inspired by some local talent.
3. Arco Lounge

All of the cafe bars in the “lounge” chain are dog-friendly, making them a great destination whether you want to grab some lunch, a coffee or even an after-work beer with your dog in tow. Arco Lounge, located on the trendy Harbourne high street, is no different. They have a wide range of food and drink, from coffees to milkshakes and from sandwiches to tapas!
Well-behaved dogs are allowed on leads—just not on the furniture! It’s pretty much open all day, every day, so it is a safe bet if you’re looking for somewhere to take your pooch. If you’re lucky, your dog might even get named “Dog of the Day” on their Instagram account!
4. Windmill Cafe

Nestled inside Waseley Hills Country Park, the Windmill Cafe is the perfect destination for your doggo. The staff love meeting new four-legged friends and there’s even a special canine menu your dog can indulge in. Depending on the mood, your pooch can choose from a doggy sausage (60p), a handful of treats, (5 for 20p) or on summer days after a tiring game of fetch, a doggy ice cream (£1.50). We don’t know about you, but we think those are bargain prices!
Make sure you check the board for drinks specials too. We prefer the orange hot chocolate with freshly whipped cream to go, with an order of their delicious homemade cake creations. If there’s an occasion coming up, you can be sure the Windmill Cafe won’t disappoint. Pause is a cute little independent cafe with great coffee and amazing baked goods, homemade by the co-owner fresh every day. Their speciality is the “cinnabuffin” which—you guessed it—is a mix between a cinnamon bun and a muffin.
And of course, the best part is that you can take your dog in with you. Tucked away in Kings Court just off Kings Heath high street, this cafe is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle and, as per the name, take a pause.
