Mutty Paws Dog Training

I offer obedience, new puppy, and behavior modification training. My typical client is one that is behaviorally complex (reactive, aggressive, bite history, fear, anxiety, etc). I also love getting creative with training plans, particularly for humans and dogs who may have a disability! I also have a network of trusted colleagues that are available to consult with on those particularly tricky cases

What to expect

Consultation

A typical behavior consult lasts between 90 mins to 2 hours. During the consult I’ll gather your dog’s history, help you set attainable goals, assess your pup, and start you on some basic training and management plans. From there, we can schedule follow-up sessions where we’ll dive into training!

Sessions

Typically in your home

A typical training session lasts 45 minutes to an hour. These sessions are paws-on, meaning you and your dog should be ready to work! At the close of the session I’ll leave you with some homework to work on before our next meeting. You should have plenty of yummy treats as well as your dog’s vaccination records.

Positive Reinforcement

I firmly believe that your relationship with your dog should be an active partnership, therefore my training philosophy is strictly force-free. This means that I do not use fear, force, pain, or intimidation to gain your dog’s compliance. I design my training programs to move at your pup’s pace, so if they need a little more time to gain some confidence that’s okay!
