*Full-Time Pet Sitter & Dog Walker*
Pet care experience
(ʘᴥʘ) Steve has been doing this since 2018! As stated in his "tag line" he does pet care Full-Time. Giving lots of availability & flexibility to clients since this is all he does. A former Nationally Certified Emergency Medical Technician who currently holds a Certificate of Completion from the American Red Cross in Cat and Dog First Aid. Steve volunteered at PAWS, a local no-kill shelter in Chicago, from 2014 to 2019. (ʘᴥʘ) (ʘᴥʘ) In January 2018, Steve started walking dogs for 30 hours or more weekly in his spare time after work. He found these clients on an app called WAG. Steve has been on Rover since late August of 2018 and has lots of experience from which to draw. (ʘᴥʘ) (ʘᴥʘ) Everyday you can find Steve at a clients house sitting their pets while they are out of town or at his own place with a boarded dog or cat. While doing a sitting or boarding for a client Steve goes out from 10AM-3PM for his daily dog walking clients and usually he can fit in a couple cat check-ins somewhere through out the day as well. (ʘᴥʘ) (ʘᴥʘ) Steve has done thousands of WAG walks in all of the North Side Neighborhoods and hundreds in the Near West & Near South Sides as well. You can see Steve’s WAG credentials from screenshots pictured on this Rover profile. The screenshots feature his Pawesome Reviews from WAG and 5-star rating! (ʘᴥʘ) (ʘᴥʘ) Steve has taken care of pets since childhood. He grew up with two dogs, two cats, a rabbit, and lots of fish. He took special care of his pets in their senior years. He went through dog training with his puppies a golden retriever named “Pal” & a Korean Jindo named “Khaki”; in a course offered by a dog behavior specialist. (ʘᴥʘ)
Reviews
First walk with Steve went very well! He was on time and took extra care to get to know our dog and learn about his walk preferences.
Steve went above & beyond for me. Due to health issues I am not able to walk my dogs. Steve has helped me every weekend early in the morning when my brother would not. He has been there on time every single day. My one dog Murphy is a triple pooper so I know he had his work cut out for him. My other dog Elwood has lots of anxiety and Steve worked through his issues with expertise & ease. It’s a blessing having him as my regular weekend walker in Wrigleyville close to the park.
Steve was very communicative and my dog had fun!
Steve is very communicative and gave us regular updates on the dogs.

Safety, trust & environment
(ʘᴥʘ) Steve treats his client's pets with all the same love and attention he has shown his own. He follows instructions left by their mommies and daddies meticulously. He makes sure they are safe and secure. (ʘᴥʘ) (ʘᴥʘ) Steve does little things like adjust the thermostat if it's too cold or hot. Always leaves his clients home in the same shape or better than when he arrived. He brush's dogs, tickles them, cuddles, belly rubs, head pats, and lays around. He very much values sleep and you will find him napping along with your dog a lot of the time. He feeds them and administers medications. He gives them great exercise as well and loves playing with toys or going for a good walk. (ʘᴥʘ)

Information Steve D. would like to know about your pet
(ʘᴥʘ) Does your dog have any special needs or anything that could be a safety concern? Do they have a particular area on their body that needs to be avoided? How social are they? What is their typical routine? Steve does not have any breed preferences or size preferences. (ʘᴥʘ)
A typical day
(ʘᴥʘ) Due to doing thousands of dog walks through the Wag App since January of 2018, Steve knows the best routes and areas to take dogs in all neighborhoods. As a safety measure he doesn't like to socialize dogs with each other and will purposely avoid other dogs so nothing happens to your dog. He knows where other dog walkers and owners gather with their dogs. He knows the local businesses that provide water and treats to dogs. He knows of places that do not mind having a K-9 in their place of business if they need to cool off with air conditioning on a hot day or warm up with the heat on a cold day. Steve likes to stick to parks or a good trail. His favorite thing that dogs do are “head tilts”, which is something a dog will exhibit when they are curious, confused, or shocked. (ʘᴥʘ)
