I have had pets of all kinds my entire life...cats, dogs, frogs, rats, hamsters, rabbits, turtles, gerbils, chameleons, etc. For the past 25 years, I have had dogs and cats. I have had mostly German Shepherds, but rescued a Rottweiler and had him for 8 years. Currently, I have an elderly German Shepherd and a Golden Doodle. I loved animals from an early age and wanted to be a veterinarian. I worked at a veterinarian's office and at a boarding kennel during college. After graduation, I even spent some time as an animal caretaker for research animals at the University of Connecticut, working with Mice, Rabbits, Coy Dogs and Wolves. Graduate school took me in a different direction and I ended up in the business world and pets are what grounds me. In addition to owning 2 dogs currently, I have been a volunteer dog walker at Our Companions Animal Sanctuary for the past 3 years. Walking dogs at the sanctuary is the most enjoyable time of my week. I have had mostly large dogs and some with special needs, so am able to handle any breed or size.
