Om: I had dogs and cats at home when I was a child, so I have experience with both. I enjoy having pets around, so I have experience with fish, reptiles, and insects. My experience with dogs is mainly with medium-sized breeds. During college, I looked after my sister's poodle and Shiba Inu. My relatives have a large dog, and although I didn't participate in caring for it, I have some understanding of its daily needs. I'm currently working on my master's thesis, so I mainly work from home. My schedule is very flexible; I can arrange to take care of the dog at home or walk it during the day. At the client's home, I will strictly adhere to the client's expectations in caring for the pet and follow the rules of their household. Om: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats of every kind from my own home and friends’, to various shelters. My friends and colleagues have relied on me to house sit, walk, company their fluffy friends while they were away. I’ve also assisted two friends to bring up their first ever dogs from 2mo old, as well as numerous new-borns at shelters. I’m currently applying for doctoral studies so my schedule is very flexible! Message ahead of time is the best way for us to decide on a mutually suitable schedule. I currently live in a big collective, so unfortunately I cannot host your pets overnight. I can though for a few hours in day time.

Om: I have 3 dogs back home, one of which I helped gave birth to! Family and friends always rely on me to take care of their pets when they are not home. I’ve taken care of blind, deaf and newborn dogs. I’m currently doing my master degree but I have plenty of time during the week as it’s mostly studying from home. Tuesdays and Thursdays I have a fixed appointment which requires me to be out of the house from 17.00 to 20.00 Weekends are always free and I love spending them outdoors in the park. I usually let them roam freely in the house, making sure no harming objects are in the way. I have a balcony but I also have a very big park and dog park right beneath my apartment which I’d go to very often.

In your home, I follow your instructions exactly: same food, same portions, same walking route and schedule if that’s what your dog is used to. I keep dogs leashed in public unless you tell me otherwise, check doors and gates before leaving, and always leave fresh water available. I’m calm and patient with nervous or reactive dogs — something I learned volunteering with rescued street animals in Colombia — and I never push a dog into contact it isn’t ready for. After every visit I send photos and a short update, and I’ll contact you or your vet right away if anything seems off.

Over the years, I’ve cared for cats, dogs, birds, chickens, pet mice, and even some unusual little companions like beetles, praying mantises, and silkworms. I’m happy with either. I don’t believe in forcing interaction, and I like letting animals set the pace. Friends often joke that animals seem to warm up to me surprisingly quickly. Personally, I think it’s because I’m patient enough to let them decide when they’re ready. I also have experience handling animals in a research setting, which taught me to be observant, gentle, and careful when following specific care instructions. While I’m not a veterinarian, I’m comfortable carrying out detailed care routines when owners or vets provide clear guidance. My goal is simple: to make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I’m a homebody, so I’m usually happy to spend quiet time with pets at home. At the same time, I also love walking, so I’m comfortable taking dogs out for regular walks and giving active pets some fresh air and movement. My schedule is flexible, and I can plan care around each pet’s normal routine. I live in a private room with a bathroom, so the indoor space is simple, calm, and easy to keep clean. I do not have a large apartment or fenced yard, but I live in Vildanden, where there is plenty of outdoor space for walks and exploring. There is also a dog playground nearby. Om: I've had a sweet poodle named Coffee since elementary school. I cook him yummy chicken breast and vegetable meals, walk him every morning and evening, give him baths, and play with him — he’s been my little best friend for 14 years. I also spend time with my sister's Springer Spaniel, Bingle — we go hiking and swimming by the sea together. Observing their personalities is fascinating to me: Coffee is shy, smart, and a bit defensive, while Bingle is a typical gentle “cancer boy” — warm, affectionate, and always looking for cuddles. A few years ago, I rescued a stray cat on campus — a gentle little one I named April. I took her to the vet, cared for her recovery, and eventually helped her find a loving adopter. That experience inspired me and a few classmates to create a Campus Cat Adoption mini app, designed to help stray cats on campus connect with students and staff willing to adopt. The project reached over 2,000 active users, facilitating more than 20 adoptions and 40 neutering cases. It was incredibly rewarding to see how a small idea could make a real difference for these animals. Whether it’s feeding, walking, or simply keeping them company, I always make sure every pet feels safe, loved, and happy. I truly enjoy spending time with animals and treating them as if they were my own. I currently work from home, so my schedule is super flexible! I have lots of time to care your dogs and cats——for walks, or cozy cuddles. I’m happy to offer boarding any day of the week and love being around these furry friends! ‘◡’ I live in a cozy, spacious apartment, and pets are welcome everywhere — yes, even on the bed! Today, I share my life with Birk, my four-year-old rescue dog (Pitbull-mix) and Myrna, my senior cat. Through Birk, I have experience with large and strong dogs, reactivity towards dogs and people and the importance of calm, predictable handling. I have also used Rover as a pet owner myself, so I understand how much trust it takes to leave your animal in someone else’s care. I take instructions seriously, communicate clearly and am happy to send photos and a short update after every walk or visit. I adapt each walk and visit to the individual needs. That could mean a calm sniffing walk, a more active walk, or incorporating familiar cues and exercises. I use patient, reward-based handling and would never force interactions with unfamiliar dogs or people. I am comfortable with larger dogs and dogs that may be insecure or reactive, provided that we discuss their behaviour beforehand and have a meet-and-greet to make sure I can handle them safely.
