I’m studying circus in Rotterdam. My schedule is quite flexible during the weeks and I’m free most of the weekends. I do it as much for me than for them. Over: Ik ben 18 jaar en heb zelf al 5 jaar een Labrador, Sky. Vanaf dat ze een pup was heb ik haar samen met mijn moeder opgevoed. We zijn met haar naar puppycursus geweest, dus ik heb ook echt geleerd hoe je een hond goed en consequent opvoedt. Sky heeft epilepsie en krijgt daar dagelijks medicatie voor. Daardoor heb ik ervaring met het geven van pilletjes en weet ik hoe belangrijk het is om rustig te blijven en goed op te letten. Gelukkig gaat het heel goed met haar. Wat mij denk ik onderscheidt, is dat ik echt kijk naar wat een hond nodig heeft. De ene hond wil lekker spelen en rennen, de ander heeft meer rust nodig. Ik ben geduldig, zorgzaam en neem de verantwoordelijkheid serieus. Honden voelen voor mij niet als “werk”, maar gewoon als iets wat ik met liefde doe. Ik kan oppassen goed combineren met mijn dagelijkse planning. Omdat ik zelf een hond heb, ben ik gewend aan vaste uitlaattijden, voeren, spelen en aandacht geven. Dat zit al helemaal in mijn routine. Ik werk graag duidelijk en maak goede afspraken met baasjes, zodat iedereen weet waar hij of zij aan toe is. Voor mij staat veiligheid altijd op nummer één. Ik behandel elke hond alsof het mijn eigen hond is. Ik luister goed naar de wensen van het baasje en volg instructies zorgvuldig op, bijvoorbeeld rondom voeding, medicatie of wandelgewoontes. Omdat ik ervaring heb met een hond die iets extra zorg nodig heeft, ben ik alert en oplettend. Ik zorg voor rust, duidelijkheid en een fijne sfeer. Als ik bij het baasje thuis oppas, zorg ik dat de hond zich veilig en vertrouwd voelt in zijn eigen omgeving. En natuurlijk stuur ik met liefde updates of foto’s als dat fijn wordt gevonden.

Over: I always grew up around animals and I knew I want to be surrounded by them forever! When I was old enough I started to walk our neighbors dog together with my own and they soon let me take care of them whenever they were on vacation. Later on I started to volunteer at a local shelter, where I gained a lot of experience regarding all types of animals. There I helped to find forever homes for our dogs and I organized many events to make sure they are seen! After high school I volunteered for horse therapy in New Zealand, furthermore I went traveling in Australia where I was dog sitting at multiple different houses. I also learned how to handle dogs with anxiety and attend to dogs with medical issues. I believe that all of them deserve the same kind of love and I can’t wait to share mine ! I am a student but I only attend lectures twice a week. The rest of the week I stay home and I have plenty of time to feed/play and walk your pet! We live in a big apartment with a big window front, where your pet can watch and observe the outside world. We have a big cozy couch that we love to share! If your dog needs to be crated we can gladly do that as well, we have many walking options and parks close by and a lot of space to roam around !

Na bijna 12 jaar samen te zijn geweest met mijn trouwe metgezel Opa – een liefdevolle witte bull terriër – weet ik hoe diep de band tussen mens en dier kan zijn. Opa was mijn schaduw, mijn steun, mijn beste vriend. Zijn verlies heeft me nog bewuster gemaakt van hoe belangrijk goede zorg, aandacht en liefde voor huisdieren zijn – juist op momenten dat jij er even niet kunt zijn. Ik bied meer dan alleen oppas. Ik bied rust, routine, knuffels en veiligheid – precies wat jouw dier verdient. Of het nu gaat om een lange wandeling, een rustige aanwezigheid in huis of gewoon iemand die écht begrijpt hoe belangrijk jouw dier is: ik ben er met liefde. Met ervaring, geduld en een warm hart zorg ik voor jouw dier alsof het mijn eigen is. Ik werk in principe 36 uur per week, vandaar dat ik na het overlijden van mijn lieve hond Opa zelf geen huisdieren meer heb. Met goede afspraken zorgen we er voor dat wanneer ik op uw dier pas, wij allemaal gelukkig zijn. Ik woon op de 2e etage en dus is het belangrijk dat uw dier trap kan lopen of opgetild kan worden. Verder heb ik een klein balkon waar heerlijk buiten gelegen kan worden. Wil de knuffelkont lekker op de bank? Absoluut geen probleem, liever in een mand knorren mag natuurlijk ook.

Over: Dieren zijn goed voor de ziel! Ik ben gek op honden en katten en ik haal veel vreugde uit hun aanwezigheid. Ik ben zelf opgegroeid met honden en weet zodoende wat er qua verzorging nodig is. Dieren zijn meestal snel op hun gemak bij mij, ik kan uren met ze wandelen, spelen en kroelen. Omdat ik nu zelf geen huisdieren heb, lijkt het me leuk om te helpen uw hond/kat te verzorgen. Ik werk meestal thuis en ben in de weekenden vaak flexibel, genoeg mogelijkheden in de planning om aandacht te geven aan uw hond of kat! Ik heb zelf geen huisdieren, dus uw hond of kat zal het rijk alleen hebben en de volle aandacht ontvangen. Ik heb een ruim appartement waar je met de lift naartoe kan. Ook ben ik beschikbaar om in uw eigen huis op uw dieren te passen.

Over: Hi! I'm Jess and I am a dog mom to 11-year-old Siberian Husky, Luna. She is a sweet, energetic, confident dog who loves all kinds of people and other dogs. She has lived and traveled all over the U.S. (over 20 states!) and now has made her way with us across the ocean to The Netherlands. Even before becoming a Rover sitter, I cared for friends' and neighbors' dogs on many occasions including a beagle, a husky and a golden retriever and grew up with shih tzu and a cockapoo, who I loved to play with and walk around the neighborhood. Before moving to The Netherlands, we most recently lived in Richmond, Virginia and enjoyed walking the many urban hiking trails and parks together. Since I started pet sitting through Rover, I have stayed with and looked after all of different kinds of pups including senior pups, puppies, and all different sizes of dogs from toy to large. I’ve also cared for other caged pets in the same home like rabbits when needed. I care for them all like they are my very own Luna girl. My husband is also a Rover sitter and will sometimes accompany me. David has always been a dog lover and loves to give my clients some extra attention while you’re away. He is also a U.S. Coast Guard Veteran and as such is very good under pressure/does not hesitate to act when dealing with anything out of the ordinary like illness or injury. My clients and I are very lucky to have him by my side when he does come along during bookings. About My Services: I am confident with standard commands in English and am learning some in Dutch as well. All of my services are customizable to your pets needs, but below is a list of what is typically included in my Standard Rate with and without overnight stay, as well as my Constant Care Rate, which I have limited availability to accept, but will consider if I am available and your pet’s needs require it. I’ve also stayed with dogs who are crated and am comfortable with crate commands. For their safety, I highly recommend crating puppies under 2 years old and any dog with a pattern of chewing or swallowing household items (remotes, pillows, etc.) when you are not home. Crate-trained pets will be crated per the owner’s instructions. Having an 11-year-old husky means I have had my fair share of experience with unexpected veterinary visits and emergencies. I am comfortable communicating symptoms to veterinary professionals with thorough details as needed. I have years of experience monitoring pets’ symptoms when they are sick, providing at home first aid, and acting quickly when additional care is needed. Veterinary Care & Emergency Transport Policy: While veterinary care and especially emergency veterinary care is a rare circumstance of a booking, pets can be unpredictable. When a medical facility advises veterinary care based on a description of symptoms over the phone, pet sitter will advise seeking veterinary care. If pet owner objects to seeking veterinary care when medically necessary, pet owner will be responsible for either taking over care of their pet themselves or securing a different caregiver expeditiously. To ensure the pet sitter is adequately compensated in extenuating circumstances, please be advised that for any unexpected or emergency travel or transport, pet sitter will provide receipts and apply a charge for reimbursement of costs incurred to your booking. An additional charge will also be applied to the cost of your booking at an hourly rate starting at the time of departure to the vet and ending at the time of either arrival to your home or, if your pet is required to stay at the vet, departure from the vet + time it takes to travel to the pet sitter’s home from the vet. This will include any additional trips back and forth to and from the vet to visit or pick up your pet based on the roundtrip to the vet from pet sitter’s or your home. Hourly rates are as follows: 8am-5pm: €10/hr 5pm-10pm: €12/hr 10pm-8am: €16/hr Holidays & Weekends: €18/hr *veterinary emergency room visit wait times can exceed 8 hours on weekends and holidays Cleaning & Vehicle Damage Policy: If pet sitter is required to clean up bodily fluids due to illness (vomit, urine, blood, diarrhea, etc) in order to maintain a safe environment in your home, their own home, or their personal vehicle, a one-time fee of €40 will be applied to your booking. The pet sitter will also require reimbursement by the pet owner for any cleaning supplies that are not readily available in the pet owner’s home. Injury To Pet Sitter Policy: If, under any circumstance, the pet sitter is injured by a pet, the pet sitter will require reimbursement for related medical expenses by the pet owner.

I’ve also worked with several long-term clients across the Netherlands, and I focus on keeping dogs comfortable, settled, and cared for the way they’re used to.
