I've been around dogs since I was born, and have cared for my own since high school. In high school, I volunteered at an animal shelter to work with abused dogs. Much of my work is done from home these days. My wife, Stephanie H., is also on rover.com, but we have separate accounts for when we travel, generally we work together to watch your pups and make sure they get all the love we can dish out. A typical day: When inside, your dog will hang with us on our oversized downstairs couch, one of several dog beds in the house, or enjoy privacy in one of several built in dog-areas cut into our walls (kind of a cool feature from the previous homeowner) My wife and I have a seven year old son and one 14 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who enjoys making new friends. On the weekends with me, there'll be lots of playing with toys and short walks (under a mile) every 4 hours with 2 longer walks each day if your dog is up for it. We also have a fenced in backyard (4ft) where I'll play with your dogs off-leash if they like it. I'll even run with your dog if they need more intense exercise. I live in a a medium sized residential community with lots of sidewalks, trees and plants for dogs to sniff. Depending on what your dog is up for, I can definitely take them out for a run or just hang out next to them reading. I've got a lot of dog toys and love to play fetch. My kid and dog are friendly, and while I can definitely deal with dogs with separation anxiety or ones that need some private space, I do not want to host dogs that are aggressive. Unless a puppy or a senior, I also only host house-broken animals. I can pay the appropriate amount of attention to help reinforce training for your puppy, and I understand that old-dogs may struggle to always get out in time. If your dog is staying with my family for a week, or if they get dirty playing with me, I'll give them a bath and blow-dry.
