I recently completed my undergraduate studies at UC Davis. My primary occupation is art and music teacher; however, the classes I teach occur only a few times a week. I also work as a mental health crisis counselor, but I work from home and set my own hours. I have a lot of availability and can be flexible with your schedule.

At home, I currently have one dog and three fish tanks. My dog, Pedro, was born in October 2023 and has just completed his service dog certification. Though these lovely creatures sadly passed away from old age, I have had parrots, snakes, geckos, and bearded dragons in the past, and I have experience caring for them. My philosophy on pet care is based on bonding and understanding. I am attentive to the cues an animal gives me, from needs to feelings. I always make sure the pet I care for feels its boundaries are respected, and I take new situations or introductions at its pace. In training, I know the importance of consistency and will abide strictly by whatever training protocols you may have in place. I know that every animal comes with its own story and its own needs, and I see my role as a collaborator to help your pet feel its best.

Let me know if your dog has any special needs, medications, or triggers. I would appreciate if you could let me know how your dog is with other dogs and children so I can make informed decisions about their personal space with others while out and about. Please let me know ahead of time if your dog is prone to trying to escape the house so I can take precautions when coming and going. I would also appreciate it if you let me know if your dog is vaccinated, if they like interacting / playing with other dogs, and if they are allowed off leash and responsive off leash should you request I take them to a park. While I will default to leashed walks if your dog likes to play off leash at a park with others I am happy to accomodate that as long as they have sufficient recall training to come back when called. Every dog has their own story and I like to be aware of how I can best serve them or any challenges they may have. Please note I can not work with dogs that pull to great excess because of a knee defect. For doggy day care: I have a sweet boy puppy who will love to play with your doggy. Before starting doggy day care I would like to introduce my boy Pedro and your furry friend to make sure they will get along. Pedro is a gentle, loving, and playful boy. The only other animals in the house are fish. I live a litteral stones throw away form a big park where dogs are often off leash to play. Please confirm in advance if you pup is allowed off leash play.

I know that furry companions are more than pets; they are family, and so I emphasize their individual needs and deliver comprehensive notes for every visit so you know they are getting top-quality care. I would love to take your dog on long walks through the neighborhood or any fun local sites like the arboretum. I love going on walks myself, so it will be a lot of fun for both of us. For more energetic dogs, I will be happy to go to a park and play fetch or go to a dog park if there is one within walking distance. For less energetic dogs, I have a bottomless supply of cuddles. I love teaching my own dog silly tricks like waving to "say hello," and I would be happy to try those with your dog, should you request it. My top priority is making sure you and your pet feel supported, so I am happy to take care of some light housework for longer bookings or overnight stays, take care of gardens or houseplants, or provide care for aquatic, reptile, avian, or other caged pets.

I have always been a dog lover and have been surrounded by dogs of many kinds my whole life. This experience has taught me that every dog is unique, just like every person. I will always tailor my time to your pet and its needs. I have personally rehabilitated two dogs who came into my life with serious trauma-related behavioral issues. I trained two service dogs and have raised my own large dog from the time we rescued him at four weeks old. I have cared for many elderly dogs and dogs with special needs, including paralyzed dogs, dogs with neurological issues, dogs with mobility problems, and dogs requiring medications throughout the day. I am experienced in administering medications, including injections. I love to go on walks as much as the pups do; I will be happy to take your furry friend on long walks. I have experience with large and high-energy breeds and would be happy to take your friend to a park or green space to burn off some of those zoomies.

Vita was amazing with our dog. During the meet and greet we felt comfortable about they way she interacted with our old man (our dog is 14 years old). He was comfortable with her and enjoyed Vita's energy. Vita provided daily updates and picks which made our vacation more enjoyable. I will say it again, Vita is amazing!
