Victoria is the real deal. She watched our clowder (8 cats!) while we were overseas for two weeks. Super communicative, loads of pictures of the kittens, and she spent time playing with them and giving them some love every day. It’s so clear that she loves cats and makes sure that they’re well taken cared for. I highly recommend her for taking care of your beloved little monsters.

As always, Victoria is wonderful to our cats. She is incredibly reliable and we know when have nothing to worry about when she is scheduled to drop in on them. The cats would also give her 5 stars if they could 🙂

Victoria is the best! Another successful booking with her caring for our two cats. The rover updates and photos help us tremendously while we are away from home. I am so glad I found Victoria, she has allowed us to maintain our routine and keep our cats socializing. Victoria is very thoughtful and is great at pet sitting!

Safety, trust & environment

Outside of my natural nursing instincts in wanting to help others, my profession has also made me someone mindful of the environment and the ones I am caring for. Safety is a top priority. Regardless of whether the care provided is in your home or mine, you know you will be comfortable leaving your fur babies in my hands. I effectively multi-task, where I can be the "fun friend" for your pet while maintaining a safe environment. I believe it is essential to not only be aware of the surroundings and assess various safety factors of the environment but also to be mindful of the animals, their behaviors, and the situation.

Pets

A typical day

Dogs and Cats are like people, and their likes, dislikes, and interests can vary greatly. I believe it is essential to get to know each one individually and personally to learn about their daily routines and likes and dislikes. A typical day will undoubtedly include activities your pet is used to doing. So whether it is going on a walk to explore the neighborhood, spending a day at the beach, or just chilling on the sofa getting a doggy or kitty message, our time spent together will be enjoyable. But their stay with me will also include enrichment activities, which gives the pet a sense of control and reduces stress. I will not only get them physically moving but get their minds active, too. Some enrichment activities include scavenger hunts, puzzles, scent games, learning and playing a new game or with a new toy, or even something as simple as blowing bubbles. The enrichment activities for cats versus dogs may be similar in some aspects, but the puzzles or games may vary, and the items used can differ. In all, your pet will have so much fun with me; they will ask you when you're planning on leaving next!

Victoria can host up to 1 pet per night
Just as you would with a child, there are important things a care giver and sitter must know about your pet prior to providing care. I believe it is important to sit down with the family, and the pets, to discuss and complete an assessment with key information. Some of these items include: the house rules, understand what is expected of you as the provider, learning about the pet's temperament and triggers, identifying health or medical issues, allergies, and dietary restrictions, daily routine, emergency contact information, and veterinary information.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
