Pet care experience

Calm, thoughtful care for every pet

I’ve spent most of my life caring for animals, and it’s something I genuinely enjoy and take seriously. I’m calm, reliable, and pretty tuned in to how animals communicate what they need, especially when they’re in a new space or off their usual routine. With over 20 years of experience caring for pets of all sizes and personalities, I’m comfortable working with senior pets, administering medications (including injections when prescribed), and supporting animals who need a little extra patience. I focus on keeping things steady and low stress so pets can relax, settle in, and feel comfortable while their people are away.

Schedule

Pet care is built into my daily routine rather than squeezed in around other commitments. Because I work from home, I’m able to structure my day around visits, walks, and check-ins, and adjust as needed for each pet’s schedule. I’m home throughout the day and keep a steady, flexible rhythm that allows me to be present and attentive rather than rushed.

Safety, trust & environment

Safety and comfort are always my top priorities, whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home. I’m thoughtful about supervision, separation when needed, and making sure each pet has appropriate space to rest, eat, and decompress. I follow each pet’s usual routines as closely as possible and keep environments calm and predictable. I’m careful about doors, gates, leashes, and transitions, and I check in frequently to make sure pets are comfortable and settling in well. My approach is low stress, attentive, and focused on helping pets feel secure in whatever space they’re in.

Pets

A typical day

A typical day is shaped around each pet’s energy level, routine, and preferences. That might include walks, playtime, enrichment activities, or just hanging out and keeping things low-key. I make sure pets get a good balance of movement, mental stimulation, and rest. I don’t believe every day needs to be busy to be a good day. Some pets are happiest with quiet companionship and predictable routines, while others enjoy more play and engagement. My goal is always to match the day to the pet, so they feel relaxed, cared for, and comfortable while you’re away.

Is your dog vaccinated, have health concerns or medications? How does your dog do with cats (currently have one) and is your dog good with other dogs? I also like to know about each pet’s routines, preferences, and any special needs ahead of time. Things like feeding schedules, medications, favorite activities, comfort items, and anything that helps them feel at ease in a new situation are especially helpful. I do my best to stick closely to what’s familiar for your pet, since consistency and routine go a long way in keeping them comfortable and low stress while you’re away.
