I also like to know what makes them happiest — their favorite toys, games, and how they enjoy spending time. For dogs, I ask about their leash manners, how they behave around other dogs, and whether they can be let off-leash in safe spaces. I also check how often they need toilet breaks and how they handle being left alone. For cats, I ask whether they’re indoor or outdoor, what type of litter they use, and how they like to be approached or played with. Some cats love cuddles and attention, while others prefer quiet company, so it’s important for me to understand what makes them feel safe and content. I also make sure to discuss any behavioral quirks or fears, like loud noises, strangers, or certain environments, so I can help them feel calm and comfortable. And of course, I always ask for emergency contacts and vet information, just in case. By taking the time to learn all these details, I can tailor my care to each pet’s individual needs and personality. My goal is to make sure every animal I look after feels secure, loved, and truly at home — whether we’re out for a walk, playing, or just relaxing together.
