I currently work 9-5 typically, but my work schedule is flexible. I work very close to where I live, so it’s easy for me to care for my tortoise and a pet at a different location. When I have dog-sat with this schedule before, I would care for the dogs before leaving for work and immediately upon returning home. I am also able to stop by during my lunch breaks to let pets out and give them some love.

A typical day
I love going for long walks year round, and love letting pets lead the way to smell as much as they like! I also love to play and run around with pets until we’re both tired out, and then finish the day with some cuddles.

Hi, I’m Shelby! I am a huge dog lover and always have been. When I was 12, I hit the jackpot when a dog showed up on my front porch and stayed forever. My best friend was a year old when I met him and 14 when I lost him a few months ago. I am confident in my ability to provide senior dogs with the level of care they require because I dedicated so much of my time to giving my boy the highest quality of life in his final years. I’ve also had my fair share of puppy-sitting (and my dog was a beagle) so I’m well prepared for the level of attention and care a puppy requires. I currently have a pet tortoise, Tomato, and spent a few years of my life working closely with non-venomous turtles and snakes, so I’m very comfortable and familiar with caring for reptile pets. I love non-venomous reptiles!

We had Shelby watch our two large, energetic dogs while we were away for a long weekend. It was our first time using a sitter via rover and Shelby made the experience amazing! She took excellent care of our dogs and we felt very comfortable with her being in and looking after our home. She sent photo updates and made sure they were very well looked after! When our flight was delayed on the way home, she was even willing to help us out beyond the initial time booked. We would 100% utilize Shelby’s services again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring sitter for their pets!
I cannot recommend Shelby enough for her exceptional care of our beloved senior dachshunds, Oswald and Schnitzel. Leaving elderly dogs with specific needs can be a source of major anxiety, but Shelby provided us with complete peace of mind. Shelby is incredibly attentive and asked in depth questions about their routines, needs and accommodated their favorite activity - couch time. Shelby's attention to detail was outstanding. She was patient with their slower pace, and we loved the regular photo updates and reports detailing their time together. It was clear from the photos that they had a nice, relaxing time together and that they adored Shelby. Shelby is professional, reliable, and most importantly, genuinely caring. She treated our fur babies like her own. We are so grateful to have found someone so capable and compassionate for our little old men.
