While my puppy’s basic needs were met and photo/video updates were provided, this sitter was not a good fit for my dog or for me as an owner. Communication was consistently difficult and, at times, dismissive once the stay began. Despite clearly explaining in advance that I was anxious about leaving my puppy over the holidays, attempts to communicate — including a brief Christmas phone call — felt rushed and were redirected back to app-only messaging. Legitimate questions about my puppy’s routine and care were often framed as unnecessary reminders rather than addressed collaboratively. The breakdown in communication significantly increased my stress during my trip and ultimately required Rover to intervene and relocate my dog to another sitter. I would caution owners who value communication, responsiveness, or reassurance to carefully consider whether this sitter’s style is the right fit.
