I am currently working as an outdoor program instructor at Sierra Nevada Journeys in Portola until the end of the summer. Outside of that work, I am excited to get to know the local community better through dog walking and dog sitting. I will have a varying work schedule that might be a little tricky to work around at times, but I'm really looking forward to spending time on the weekends helping folks out with their dogs!

As I mentioned, I cannot currently offer boarding services -- but I am eager to help out and take care of a pet in a client's home (check-ins/overnights). Not only will I be respectful of the space itself, but I will also be sure to attune to the needs of the dog in their home as I am a guest while I am there. This includes learning all necessary information head of time about the home, how to access needed things, and asking any lingering questions so that there is no question of your pet's comfort and safety in your time away.

If there are any special medical needs required, please let me know ahead of time. I have experience with dogs who require medicine (for arthritis, anxiety, digestion as examples) - but would feel most comfortable getting the full picture of your dog's needs ahead of time.
A typical day
I will thoroughly enjoy long walks with your dog, checking out the different smells, and getting some energy out! When we come back inside, I will be sure to keep your pet company if an afternoon nap is needed.

Pet care experience
Growing up with dogs, I've always had a love for taking care of and making sure all dogs - big or small - feel loved, safe, and comfortable. At previous places of work, I often watched my coworkers dogs in their homes while they were away. Whether its couch snuggles or early morning walks, I'm here for it! My ability to really listen to and hear what a dog needs sets me apart from other sitters; I firmly believe that there is so much more to a dog than people give them credit. They are such intelligent individuals with a raw sense of joy that it would be an absolute honor to get to spend time watching your furry friend!

Sarah was great with Sammy! She was very responsive from the start and during her stay. She sent pictures of their walks together which he clearly was enjoying. When we got home the house was tidy and Sam was tired and happy. I will use her again when we go away and highly recommend!
