Growing up in unincorporated King County we always had a wide range of stray cats, escape artist canines, feed store chickens, ducks, and I took care of and managed my rabbitry of 15 to 20 bunnies. I became the usual go to within the neighborhood when someone made a trip out of town. Around the age of 16 or 17 I started to spend my weekends in a few different horse stables. Cleaning stalls and paddocks, as well as feeding, and grooming expanded my knowledge and love for animals. My first job was with a well-known chain petstore, who i stayed employed with for 2 years and 3 months. This is where i learned the most about caring for a wide variety of critters.
