Safety, trust & environment

I provide cat sitting in the owner’s home, as I believe cats are happiest and least stressed in their familiar environment. Before any booking, I offer a free meet & greet to understand your cat’s routine, personality, and any specific needs such as feeding schedules, medication, or behavioural traits. I also take note of home access, security preferences, and emergency contacts. During each visit, I follow your instructions closely and maintain consistency with your cat’s routine. This typically includes feeding, refreshing water, cleaning litter trays, and spending quality time based on your cat’s personality—whether that’s play, interaction, or simply quiet companionship. I carry out a visual health check at every visit, monitoring appetite, behaviour, and general wellbeing. If I notice anything unusual, I will contact you promptly. Your home is treated with the utmost respect. I ensure doors and windows are secure, keys are handled safely, and everything is left as found. You’ll receive regular updates with photos or videos after each visit, so you can feel confident your cat is safe, relaxed, and well cared for.

Information Sara V. would like to know about your pet

Before starting any care, it’s important for me to understand each pet’s routine, health needs, and personality so I can provide safe and consistent care. Key things I ask owners to share in advance include: Feeding schedule, portion sizes, and any dietary requirements Any medication, including dosage and administration instructions Behavioural traits (e.g. shy, anxious, outdoor/indoor only, reactive to noise or strangers) Vet details and emergency contact information Any specific triggers such as fear of doors, other animals, or handling preferences Usual routines so I can maintain familiarity and reduce stress I also find it helpful to know how your cat usually responds when you’re away, as some cats may hide, eat less, or behave differently when their owner is not home. During care, I pay close attention to appetite, litter tray usage, energy levels, and general behaviour. If anything appears unusual, I will always inform the owner promptly. My aim is to ensure your pet stays safe, comfortable, and as close to their normal routine as possible while you’re away.

A typical day

A typical visit is calm, routine-focused, and tailored to each cat’s personality. I start by checking in on your cat and observing their behaviour and mood. This helps me adjust the visit depending on whether they are playful, shy, or prefer quiet company. I then handle all essential care tasks, including feeding according to your instructions, refreshing water, and cleaning litter trays to maintain a clean and comfortable environment. Once the basics are done, I spend time engaging with your cat in a way they’re comfortable with. For more playful cats, this might include interactive play with toys like wand toys or balls to encourage exercise and stimulation. For more relaxed or nervous cats, I focus on gentle companionship, sitting nearby, talking softly, or simply providing a calm presence so they feel safe. If your cat enjoys attention, I also offer brushing, strokes, and enrichment activities to keep them mentally stimulated. Before leaving, I do a final check of food, water, litter, and the home environment to ensure everything is secure and as it should be. After each visit, I send photo or video updates so you can see how your cat is doing and feel reassured while you're away.

Cat care experience

I have over 10 years of experience providing dedicated cat sitting services in clients’ homes, working with a wide range of cats including indoor-only, shy or anxious cats, senior cats, and those requiring medication or special routines. What sets me apart is my ability to quickly understand each cat’s individual personality and adapt my care accordingly. I don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach—some cats need play and stimulation, others need quiet companionship and space, and I adjust each visit to suit that. I also place strong emphasis on observation and consistency. I monitor behaviour closely during each visit, including appetite, litter habits, energy levels, and general mood, so I can quickly identify anything out of the ordinary. Senior cats and cats with medical needs receive careful, calm handling and structured routines to minimise stress. I am confident following detailed instructions and ensuring medication and care requirements are carried out accurately. Clients also value my reliability and communication. I provide regular photo and video updates after visits so they always know their cat is safe, settled, and well cared for. For me, cat sitting is not a casual service—it is a responsibility built on trust, consistency, and attention to detail.

Both my cats felt very comfortable with Sara. She took great care of them and sent me daily videos.

Sara has looked after my babies many times over the last couple of years and has shown to be reliable, trustworthy and a true animal lover. Expect daily updates and videos for your peace of mind. Sara has also previously helped care for my babies when they have been sick and has been a big emotional support for me during those times. My new, fairly shy rescue cats also love Sara! It is hard to leave your babies with someone for the first time but I can honestly say that Sara is someone you can wholeheartedly trust to take great care of them. Highly recommend!

Sara is a great pet sitter and Cosmo (my cat) loves her! He is such a shy boy around new people and he felt confortable with Sarah after just 2 visits. Nothing to point out so far after using her cat sitting services for a while.
