Growing up I always wanted to be a veterinarian due to the love and compassion I had for all types of animals. Due to my environment the only animals besides those of nature that I was around were mainly cats and dogs. I took that to my advantage and spent every moment possibly with any cat or dog I could get my hands on. There were always stray litters of kittens and I made sure to always find them and bring them home. We took care of them and rehomed them. It may have drove my mother batty, but she knew I cared for every animal I met and had to do this. Fast forward to adulthood, I still scream like a child inside whenever I see a cat or dog… which yes happens to be a lot. I own two of my own German shepherds and two cats. My parents have always had small dogs so I am used to dogs of all sizes.
