My whole life I’ve spent time around all different kinds of dogs. My cousins had a Shih - Zu who taught me how to deal with resource guarding, and a childhood friend’s old Labrador taught me how to handle the joint issues of an elderly dog. I lived next door to a family who adored the Gordon Setter, and their Setter named Coco was the sweetest lady you could find in our neighborhood! Back in 2023, my sister got an American Pitbull Terrier puppy named Athena, and I spent a short amount of time with her simply just training her to be comfortable with her crate and developing a positive relationship with strangers coming into her environment. Other breeds I haven’t specifically worked one on one with but have spent time with are Samoyeds, Beagles, and Siberian Husky / German Shepherd mixes. Before I was born, my father raised many Alaskan Malamutes in his home, and he passed on all of his knowledge and experience onto me. I have yet to work with a wider range of breeds, but I would love nothing more than to expand that knowledge throughout my life.
