Since I work from home in Hummelstown, I have flexibility in my schedule that makes pet care a great fit. I intentionally keep my service area close to home so I can reliably stop by in the morning, during lunch, and after work for visits, walks, feedings, or check-ins. I’d rather provide consistent, attentive care to nearby pets than overextend myself.

About Paula D.
Safety, trust & environment
I believe pets are happiest when they can stick to their normal routines and feel safe in their own environment. In your home, I’ll follow your instructions closely for feeding, walks, medications, playtime, and any little quirks or preferences that make your pet comfortable. Safety is very important to me, whether that means double-checking doors and gates, following leash safety, being mindful of food restrictions, or simply paying attention if a pet seems stressed or not acting like themselves. As a longtime pet owner—including caring for a cat with daily medical needs—I know how important attentiveness and consistency are. I also understand the trust involved in having someone care for your pets and enter your home, and I take that responsibility seriously.

A typical day
When I visit the house, I'll do a typical check to make sure everything looks in place. I'll let the dog out and/or take them for a walk. If there's special toys they like to play with, I'll be happy to get some fetch time in or maybe just some belly rubs it that's what they like. If it's feeding time, I'll get right to it! They don't like to wait. For cats, once they're fed, I'll empty any litter boxes, check the water levels on their water bowls and start to play with them when their ready.

Pet care experience
Hi! I’m a lifelong pet owner currently owned by three cats—Chewy, Peanut, and Tigger 😸 With 30+ years of hands-on animal care experience, I know every pet has their own personality, routines, and very specific opinions. I’m comfortable caring for cats and dogs with a variety of needs, including medical support—my cat Chewy has asthma, so I’m experienced with daily treatments and paying attention when something seems off. I’ve also cared for dogs of different sizes, from my own growing up to helping with my brother’s Great Dane. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pets with someone else, and I’ll care for them with patience, reliability, and the same attention I’d want for my own pets.

Reviews
You'll never find a better more loving person to people as well as to animals. She has always treated her cats as well as our 3 cats and any dogs we had with nothing but her love. She once picked up a stray dog on the interstate and lovingly brought him home to share Thanksgiving with us. She named him buddy he was starved for love and attention which we all gave him. She'll treat your cat or dog like it was her own and give them all her love and attention. You won't regret hiring Paula.
