I love caring for pets in their own space, as I think it makes such a difference with their comfort levels. Especially with anxious pets, I think it’s important to keep something familiar when they do not have their people. I will always confirm any parts of the home that are off limits for the animals and ensure their safety; I think a meet and greet ahead of time is important to create a clear understanding about my place in your home for the time I’m there, and allows the pet to get acquainted with me while comfortable in your presence.

Please let me know as much as you can about your pets! I love to hear about their favourites toys and foods, a dog’s favourite walk routes, and anything else that gets them excited. I like to know a pet’s personality beforehand, but that’s only to best handle them during our time together. As for things I think it is necessary for me to know, I would appreciate information about any special needs, odd behaviours, or medications they may take that will affect my care for them. I have experience will all these things so it is not a deterrent at all, but rather something I’d like to prepare for!

I will play with your pets as long as their hearts desire, take them through the neighbourhood to explore the nearby parks and gardens, make sure they are well fed and well hydrated, and provide a welcoming place for them to rest.

I am very accommodating on walks; if a high-energy dog wants to run through the fields we pass, I will run with them, and if a senior dogs wants to sniff every post near the sidewalk, I will wait patiently. I do not tug on collars but guide dogs with my voice. I am very alert to their needs and am willing to spend as much time on them as necessary. I also love playing with pets, and am happy to learn about their favourite toys and treats that we can play with. I am new to mental enrichment for dogs but have learned a lot about it recently and am very open to challenging a dog’s senses and abilities! I love to cuddle and sit with pets if they want the attention, or leave them be if they are more independent. I have a very good memory and learn quickly, so I am great at following instructions, sticking to a routine, and recognizing patterns and behaviours in your pets.

Nicholetta is fantastic! She’s watched our cats a few times and the cats are always well taken care of. She sends lots of pictures and updates on how silly that cats act when she’s there!
Nicoletta was responsive to all of my messages and did a great job caring for my 2 cats and 2 rabbits! She took so many cute pictures and it was clear that all of my legs enjoyed her attention. My rabbits have previously been a bit overlooked by other sitters and it made me very happy to see them get the attention they deserve.
I was nervous leaving my cat for the weekend, but I was very happy with all the details and pictures Nicoletta provided every time she visited! My cat really seemed to love her company!
