Hi! I’m Mia, a middle school teacher and lifelong dog lover offering a safe, calm, home-based environment for your pup. As a teacher, I spend my days caring for others, staying organized, communicating clearly, and creating routines—and I bring those same qualities to pet care. I live in a quiet two-bedroom condo near Horner Park with my friendly 12-year-old Shih Tzu/Bichon mix, Penelope. She loves having canine visitors and is happy to share her toys, naps, and neighborhood walks. When your dog stays with me, they become part of the family. Pets are welcome throughout the home and are never left isolated. I provide multiple walks each day, plenty of playtime, enrichment activities, and lots of affection. During school breaks, holidays, and weekends, I am home frequently and can provide even more individualized attention. I know how important it is to feel connected while you’re away, so I send regular photo and video updates so you can see exactly how your dog is doing. Although I have been a dog owner for over 12 years, my experience extends well beyond caring for my own pup. I regularly provide pet care for family members, friends, and neighbors, including overnight stays, daytime care, feeding, walks, playtime, and administering daily routines. I am also currently working part-time as a dog walker, which has given me experience caring for dogs with a variety of personalities, energy levels, and needs. As both a teacher and pet caregiver, I understand the importance of patience, consistency, and communication. I treat every dog as if they were my own and take the time to learn their routines, preferences, and comfort level. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, cuddles on the couch, or a quieter environment, I strive to provide a safe, loving, and stress-free experience while you’re away. As a full-time middle school teacher, I provide pet care on weekends during the school year and have expanded availability during holidays, school breaks, and throughout the summer. While caring for your dog, I build my schedule around their needs and maintain a consistent routine for walks, meals, playtime, and rest. Dogs in my care receive multiple potty breaks and walks throughout the day, along with plenty of attention, affection, and enrichment. Your dog will never be left alone for extended periods, and I will keep you updated with photos and messages during their stay.

Dogs are treated like family and are welcome throughout my home. I take time to learn each dog’s routine, personality, and any special instructions before their stay. I provide a calm, structured environment with multiple walks, supervised playtime, and plenty of opportunities to relax. As a teacher, I am patient, attentive, and highly organized, and I bring those same qualities to caring for pets. I am also happy to schedule a meet-and-greet beforehand to ensure everyone feels comfortable.

A typical day includes morning potty breaks and walks, regular meal times, play sessions, enrichment activities, and plenty of cuddle time. Depending on your dog’s personality and energy level, we may enjoy neighborhood walks through Ravenswood Manor and around Horner Park, indoor games, toy time, or simply relaxing together at home. My dog, Penelope, loves meeting new friends, and guest dogs often enjoy playing with her or joining us on our daily walks. Throughout the day, I provide photo and video updates so you can see exactly how your dog is doing while you’re away. My goal is for every dog to feel safe, comfortable, loved, and right at home.
