I grew up with 3 dogs of my own, which gave me hands-on experience understanding different breeds, temperaments, and care needs from a young age. Since moving to NYC, I’ve become the go-to dog sitter for friends, neighbors, and their networks throughout the city. I’m comfortable navigating busy streets, dog parks, and apartment living with dogs of all sizes. From tiny Yorkies to large German Shepherds, I’ve cared for dogs across the spectrum - managing everything from medication schedules to behavioral quirks. Living in the city has taught me how to keep dogs safe and happy in an urban environment while ensuring they get the exercise and attention they need.

Safety, trust & environment
Pet safety is my top priority in every interaction. I keep all pets on leash during walks unless in designated off-leash areas, ensure secure gates and doors, and maintain constant supervision. I’m experienced in reading pet body language to prevent conflicts and stress. My own home is pet-proofed with secure fencing, and I always follow each pet parent’s specific care instructions to maintain the comfort and security pets are used to.
Ratings and reviews
On several occasions, I've hired Matthew to come to my home to take care of my, somewhat difficult, Shiba Ina, Koko, while I'm away. Because of her aggression with other dogs, boarding wasn't really an option. Koko doesn't love being petted, nor is she particularly trusting of new people but she took to Matthew right away. He sent daily pics and videos (some with her, allowing him to pet her) that made it clear that she had already bonded with him. Now, whenever she sees him, she can barely contain herself with glee. . Knowing she's in such good hands makes leaving her behind that much easier. I'm very grateful.
Matthew is way beyond a dog sitter or walker, he is like a member of our family! Leo runs to him when he arrives and stares at the door when Matt leaves. We cannot recommend him highly enough.
Matthew went above and beyond helping take care of my dog Mea. He is a natural and I highly recommend him to watch your dog while you are gone :))

Schedule
I maintain a flexible schedule that allows me to provide consistent, reliable pet care throughout the week. I’m available for morning walks, midday check-ins, and evening visits, and I always communicate with pet parents about timing and any schedule changes. I understand that pets thrive on routine, so I work to maintain their regular feeding and exercise schedules as closely as possible.
