I work from home and can keep the pet company the same as it does me. I walk a lot to get inspiration for my writing and love to have furry companions along. If it's a cat we can both chill together and enjoy the presence of royalty.

I don't have any other animals staying with me at the moment and plan to only ever have one over at a time when working. For cats, I live on the fourth floor of an apartment with a balcony that I use often, so I trust they are smart enough not to jump or have 1 life or more left if they decide to.

It is important to get to know a dogs comfort level when you first meet so that both you and the dog can become comfortable around each other to a point of mutual existence. Some dogs do not deal well with being overly touched when they first meet a person, same as some people. I believe this mean they just need extra mindfulness.

I like to work to stimulate not just a dog's physical health but mental health as well. My goal is to learn to train police and military dogs so I will work to train dogs not to be militant but to use their intelligence, wisdom and companionship in a way that is beneficial to their pack.

I've had animals all my life from birds, to dogs, cats, rabbits, reptiles and more. My favorite animal is a tiger but I know what it means to love something and have to let it go after a while.

Very kind, able to step up the last-minute when I got sick and took over Sunny's walk
Mariti joined one of our training sessions with Griffey for an hour to help him prepare for his Canine Good Citizen test. She arrived early, was very communicative, and Griffey loved her! We had lots of fun. Highly recommend.
Mariti was EXCEPTIONAL with my 60-pound lab-Dalmatian, Aussie! She was quick to respond to my booking, arrived promptly, listened intently as I explained quirks of my dog’s behavior, and returned from the walk promptly with my worn-out, smiling pup :) Aussie is a strong, quick-to-pull-towards-squirrels kind of dog, but Mariti handled him extremely skillfully for a full hour of walking, at PEAK dog-walking time, in the most densely populated area of dogs in DC. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Mariti for walks, AND she’d be my first choice for drop-ins or boarding when I leave town. Mariti is not only a highly experienced dog caretaker, she clearly loves dogs (and, crucially, my dog also now adores her, after just one meeting). I will hire again, no question.
