Safety, trust & environment

I love house-sitting for pet owners. It often helps your pet feel more comfortable if they are able to stay in the environment that they are used to. I take thorough notes when first meeting with you to ensure that I exhibit the utmost respect for your home as well as for your pet. When I walk your pet or do drop-in visits, I always practice safe habits such as ensuring your dog is securely on their leash 100% of the time, carefully closing gates, doors, etc. to ensure your pet remains safely in the house, and providing plenty of water (or food) as necessary so that your pet stays happy and healthy!

Information Marissa J. would like to know about your pet

Particularly for walks, it is helpful to know whether your dog has any reactivity to other dogs, people, or any other triggers! As mentioned previously in my profile, I currently own a reactive dog and will be compassionate and patient with your pet no matter what kind of personality they have.

A typical day

I love taking dogs on walks or hikes in the mountains. I also love playing outside whether it’s fetch at the dog park or tug-of-war with their favorite rope toy.

Pet care experience

Being a pet-sitter is one of the best part-time gigs in the world! I have been around pets for most of my life and am most familiar with caring for dogs. I am comfortable with caring for animals of any size as well as pets with various personalities. I currently own a reactive dog and know how important it is to maintain patience and care with our pet friends who are not as friendly. Spending time with dogs is one of my favorite things to do, and I’d love to get to know your pet. Whether you need a sitter, a walker, or a drop-in visitor, I'm so looking forward to helping you care for your beloved furry family member!

Marissa was so accommodating. Our pup just got done with training and she worked really hard to try to bring home what our dog learned with the trainer. It was great to get daily check ins and he had a blast playing with her own dog, Kashe. Will be so happy to have her again.

Marissa was great! She stayed with our two dogs for the weekend and sent us frequent updates with pictures and videos. She is very communicative and organized, which I really appreciate when having someone stay with our girls. She is kind, respectful, and great to work with. We will definitely book her again!
