I work from home part-time, so your dog will have plenty of company throughout the day. I will follow their usual feeding, walking and rest routine as closely as possible, including any medication or special requirements you tell me about. A typical day includes a morning garden break, followed by a walk around Ravenscourt Park or along the riverside. During the day, the dogs can play or relax in the garden, while the flat is spacious enough to give them separate quiet areas whenever they need a break. Oli and I usually go on one or two walks of around an hour each day, but I am flexible and will adjust the number, duration and pace of walks to suit your dog. During hot weather, longer walks take place early in the morning or later in the evening. You can expect plenty of affection, playtime, rest and positive reinforcement, as well as regular photo and message updates so you know how your dog is getting on.

Safety, trust & environment
I have a large, fully enclosed private garden with walls and fencing on all sides, and I am the only person with access to it. There are no plants that are dangerous to dogs, and there is plenty of space to play fetch, explore and, in Oli’s case, occasionally dig a small hole. The garden connects directly to the daytime living area where I work, so I can see it clearly and stay close to the dogs at all times. On walks, I can use secure fenced areas where dogs can run freely or keep them on the lead. I also know several quiet routes with long stretches away from traffic where Oli can safely be off-lead. Until I know your dog well, however, I will keep them either on the lead or within a securely fenced area. Oli and I also go running occasionally, and your dog would be welcome to join us if they enjoy running and need extra exercise.

Pet care experience
My family and I have had dogs since I was a teenager, and I have always formed a very special bond with them. We tend to become attached at the hip! I have also looked after small and medium-sized dogs for family and friends. I have always been the one responsible for training our family dogs, and I believe strongly in positive reinforcement. Dogs do not respond well to raised voices or anger, so I use treats, patience, positive and reassuring energy, a calm and gentle voice, and plenty of affection. I make sure to praise them enthusiastically as soon as they turn their attention towards me and respond to a cue. My current dog, Oli, is two years old and has been with me for over a year and a half. He is very sweet and friendly, and we both love having company! From past experience, Oli gets along well with dogs with a wide range of personalities and temperaments. After some playtime, they usually settle down and relax together. I work from home part-time, have a large garden, and live just a few minutes from the parks and the riverside, which are perfect for walks and outdoor time. I am flexible when it comes to the number and duration of walks and will adapt to your dog’s usual routine and needs. Oli and I usually go on one or two walks of around an hour each day, and when the weather allows, we try to spend as much time outdoors as possible. During hot weather, we move our walks to the early morning and late evening. Thanks to the shade provided by the taller buildings surrounding the garden, we can still step outside several times during the day to play, stretch our legs or simply relax together. If your dog has any special needs or requirements, I am happy to accommodate them wherever possible. The flat is also spacious enough to give Oli and your dog their own dedicated areas if either of them needs some quiet time or a break. I am also happy to bathe or groom your dog when needed, following your instructions and their usual routine.
