Pet care experience

Your pet’s loving Auntie Dia

I’ve taken care of my own pets for 15 years and others for over 10 years. In this span I have worked for neighbors, friends, and professional clients caring for dogs, cats, and exotic pets of various sizes and ages. I have experience with puppies/kittens and seniors, animals with physical and non-physical special needs, and oral medication administration. There is no breed I won’t work with as long as a successful meet and greet shows that we are a good match!

Lydia is fantastic. She is highly professional, organized, and punctual. She documented my dog’s behavior and made sure she was well taken care of. Most importantly: my dog loved her. It is obvious that Lydia has years of experience and I would recommend her to anyone!

House Sitting • Sep 09, 2025

Lydia was very professional, responsive, and accommodating. Our request for an overnight was somewhat last minute and even though Lydia thought she wouldn’t be available on Sunday, she still offered to stay overnight with our Donut. Lydia texted us throughout the weekend providing updates and pictures. We would definitely recommend Lydia and we will be requesting her for help in the future!

Dog Walking • Sep 10, 2024

Lydia has been a tremendous help in looking after Kyoshi while I was working on site. I commend her communication and punctuality. She is also proactive and consistent in asking probing questions to walk Kyoshi with ease and efficiently. She reinforced the commands that Kyoshi knows to keep the consistency as Kyoshi continues to learn. We sincerely appreciate the understanding and genuine care she provided to Kyoshi. My mind was at peace that Kyoshi was in good hands while I was at work. I hope that our schedules will meet for future dog walking booking(s).

Schedule

I work from home so have plenty of time to stop by and care for your pets or host your dogs in my home! I take my own dogs for long walks/park visits every day and very much appreciate a needed break from my desk to go out and get some air with a furry friend!

Safety, trust & environment

My pet care philosophy centers around empathy, compassion, and of course, treats and love. I am patient, slow, and gentle when introducing myself to new pets. I am a strong believer in positive association and I train only through positive reinforcement, so I always have small treats on hand in order to do so. I understand that every pet has their own personality, quirks, and needs, and I will always adjust my own procedures to find what works and make sure the pet is comfortable when I am in their home and/or when we are walking together. Overnight and daycare stays will require a meet & greet with me and my dogs first in a neutral space and then in my home. If the dogs get along, we would love to have your pup! While your pup is in my home, they will enjoy a clean home, tons of attention, free rein of the furniture, exercise, and playtime. I will abide by your feeding schedule and only food/treats that you supply/approve. Your dog will also get a least an hour of exercise (weather permitting) unless you request that they need more/less.

A typical day

I am happy to take your dog out for walks around the neighborhood or, if you and your pup are comfortable with car rides, we can also drive to local trails/dog parks that I frequent with my own pup! On days that it is too hot or too cold for a long walk, I will gladly play with and keep your dog company indoors for the duration of our scheduled visit. Unless you have a fenced yard or request that I do not do this, my dog drop-ins include a quick potty break of about 15 minutes or less. As for cat sitting, if your cat is the playful type I would love to play during drop ins and house sits but I am also glad to respect your pets space and let them do their thing, if that is their preference

I require meet and greets for dogs prior to any walks, drop ins, house sits, or day care stays. If your dog is doing a daycare stay/overnight stay, I will also require the initial meet and greet or a separate meet and greet to include my own dogs so that we can make sure that they get along. If the meet and greet goes well and we are a good match, I have no breed or age restrictions! During the meet and greet, we should cover anything you think I should know about your pup including how they behave on walks, whether or not they’re reactive and what they are reactive towards, if they have any allergies/if they are on a diet, and anything else!
