May we please pet your dog?
Hello! We are new to Rover but excited to help love your pet while you are away. My husband and I have both been background checked by Rover and we are both pet enthusiasts. I’ve been proudly owned by dogs for 24 years ☺️ and have loved and cared for dogs for 39 years. My previous direct ownership experience was with a sheltie, golden doodle, and Belgian Tervuren. I have been through many obedience courses, two canine good citizen courses, and a smattering of herding and agility. My Belgian Tervuren and I also trained for search and rescue work and did a lot of scent, trailing, and tracking work. My husband, Alan, has been owned by dogs for 30 years and loved and cared for dogs for 42 years. His previous pets have been a schnauzer, a poodle, and golden doodle. He has participated in obedience classes as well as helped teach as well.

Lona and Alan took great care of my dogs while I traveled. They sent photo updates and they had my dogs ready to go when I arrived. I would highly recommend them to care for your pet.

Schedule
We can board dogs any day of the week. My husband works from home remotely and I am hybrid and work from home roughly three days a week. As long as we are in town dogs are welcome in our home.

Safety, trust & environment
At our home, we have a large fenced in backyard for dogs to have fun and enjoy. When we had dogs, we never let them outside unattended and we would always keep your dogs company when they are outside too. We have many cleaned dog toys available for play. We also have multiple kennels available for dogs that prefer/need to be kenneled if we have to step out for errands. And for dogs that don’t have any destructive behaviors, they are welcome to stay out and stay with us at night - sleeping on dog beds next to our bed. Because we recently had two large dogs and we have an three year old child - our house is set up to be safe for toddlers and dogs. Our dogs have recently gone over the rainbow bridge at the age of 12.5 and we miss having dogs in our home. We would be very happy to host yours!
A typical day
We love playing fetch in the backyard, going for walks, and we have lots of treat puzzles for dogs to play with. We also have plenty of cleaned dog toys to play tug, if that’s allowed. Additionally we enjoy doing scent work with dogs - keeping them mentally engaged as well as exercised. We are flexible and happy to help with whatever you need - let’s chat! :)
