I work from home full time as a writer/researcher and adore having canine companions to hang, exercise, and play with throughout the day. Weekends and evenings are spent relaxing at home, on hikes in the surrounding areas, and getting together with friends (and their dogs!). For weekend sits, I prefer dogs who can be left alone with my dog (crated or not) for at least a couple hours at a time while I run errands, but I can make exceptions sometimes, so let's chat about it.

Safety, trust & environment

Your pup will enjoy lots of love and a good routine. I know how stressful it can be for dogs to be in a strange place and/or away from their beloved people, so I have no problem keeping the routine and structure they are used to while also spoiling them a little bit and trying to make them as comfortable as possible. Dogs are welcome on the furniture at my apartment and on the bed. I am highly responsive to client communication and send regular pics, videos, and updates.

Information Liz L. would like to know about your pet

Daily routine, personality, any special needs (physical, emotional, dietary, etc.), favorite things, how your dog communicates, any history of aggression or anxiety, energy level, allergies, social needs, emergency info.

A typical day

Mornings are typically spent at off leash time in Mount Prospect Park or on long leashed walks in Prospect Park proper, whatever is better for your pup. Mid-day we walk around my neighborhood and I 'm a big fan of puzzle toys, destruction boxes, kongs, etc. to keep them happy and engaged during indoor times. In the evenings it's off to the park again after dinner and if your dog likes to snuggle, then you've come to the right place.

Pet care experience

I've taken care of dogs of all ages, including puppies, elders, and dogs with special needs. I'm currently in training to become a certified dog trainer and have a 2 year old, 40 lb, mixed-breed, female dog, Roux, who would love to romp and wrestle with your pup. Roux has yet to meet a dog she doesn't love, but also naturally reads cues from other dogs extremely well and will respect their boundaries. I've been a Rover sitter for four years now and have an amazing group of returning clients whom I adore. I love creating lasting relationships with my dog clients and their people. I have experience watching dogs who are in training for basic commands, off leash training, and mild reactivity, so I'm happy to carry on whatever training routine your dog needs while you're gone. My main priority as a care worker is to create a loving, peaceful, and fun environment for your pup while you are away, keep them happy and healthy, and make sure you feel at-ease knowing they are in good hands. My clients consistently share that I give them great peace of mind while they are away from their beloved companions.

Liz was amazing! From providing an extra harness and leash after I forgot to bring mine, to taking my Layla to the park on a beautiful, sunny day, she took care of my baby as if she were her own and completely put my mind at ease. I cannot thank her enough for being so kind and accommodating (and for snapping such great photos of Layla while I was out of the country!). Highly recommend Liz for all your dog care needs!
