I’ll listen carefully to your instructions and follow them all. If I ever have any questions or notice any odd behavior or health issues, I notify the owner immediately. Lots of people tell me that I’m a “dog whisperer”. I agree that I have a sixth sense for knowing how a pet is feeling and trying lots of different tactics to keep them happy and healthy.

I don’t have any breed preferences - I love them all. I’d appreciate it if you would let me know your pet’s temperament so I can get a jumpstart on forming a great relationship. Also, please make me aware of any potential issues or troubles you have had in the past with sitters, walkers, or boarding. I ask four questions to all dogs that are new to me: 1. Are they up to date on their flea/tick treatments and shots? 2. Are they 100% potty trained or is there any chance of an accident/marking? 3. Are they ok sleeping in a crate the first night or two while we get to know each other and they get comfortable with my house? (If they prefer to sleep in bed with me, we will transition to that ASAP - possibly even the first night) 4. Are they friendly to other dogs? Just in case we have the opportunity for a doggie play date or go to the dog park.
A typical day
I’m happy to go on as many walks as your pup desires. I also love to play tug and fetch as well as snuggle and give belly rubs. I adapt to whatever personality I’m with. Mostly I try to keep to your normal routine and maybe throw in some training or extra play time. Many, many owners have told me that their pet had more fun during a week with me than they normally would have if they were home.

I have no pets of my own and only board pets from one family at a time. (Or for less stress for all, I’m happy to take care of your pets in your home.) Your fur baby will have my full attention 24/7. Neighbors, Rover customers, friends, family, and animal shelters have relied on me to walk, feed, medicate, bathe, train and give loving care to a wide variety of animals over the years. All give me glowing praise and recommendations. Most importantly, I love doing it and taking care of pets is the highlight of my day. I am retired so I have lots of flexibility and availability. I am willing to take on any job - big or small. I moved to the Village of LaGrange in August 2026.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Leslie! We were away in the Dominican Republic for a week and felt completely at ease the entire time, thanks to her. She took incredible care of our chocolate lab Maya and our home — going above and beyond in every way. What really stood out was her communication. Our dog, Lilah, stayed the weekend with Leslie and her husband recently! They were super nice and prompt at responding. We really appreciated their flexibility with dropoff/pickup and pictures/updates they sent! They seemed to really enjoy Lilah’s company and she loved them! Would definitely recommend and use again!
