Pet care experience
I’ve grown up around animals of all kinds, from being given the responsibility to take care of my pony Cocoa at age 6, to taking care of our trusty barn cats, to supporting my mom’s successful German Shepherd dog training and breeding business. I am able to interact with and understand many different animal personalities. I am reliable, thorough, and understand the needs of both pet and pet owner alike. I previously was a dog walker in DC before grad school got too busy, and I’m often relied upon by my friend to take care of her cat when she’s away.

Kristi is amazing! She is very conscientious, communicative, and kind. She has now cared for our dogs (3) and cats (2) and we cannot recommend her highly enough. She is very attentive to each of their unique needs. Our pets love Kristi and get so excited when she arrives to watch them! Kristi is also very responsive and great at answering my questions, and proactive about making sure she has all the information she needs before each visit. From her great attention to detail and ability to read each of our animals so well, we can tell she has had a lot of experience interacting with and caring for animals. Again, we highly recommend her for taking care of your fur babies!

I currently don’t have pets of my own (as I live in a tiny house converted bus), but in a client’s home I am always careful to follow their instructions regarding their pet’s safety, from food items to keep away to any specific leashing and collar needs for walking to ensuring the safety of the pet in the home (keeping any inside gates in place, ensuring doors are locked, etc).

I always ask for any details about your pet's needs, such as any medications or supplements they might take, any behaviors or physical signs I should be on the look out for, and how to handle strangers and other dogs around your pet.
A typical day
I love to play games with dogs and learning what types of playing makes them feel engaged and connected. While out on walks, I like to let your dog show me where all of their favorite spots are so that I can make sure to incorporate them into our daily walks.
