Availability
I'm a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu self-defense instructor with a flexible schedule, so I'm home a lot (typically gone 2 - 4 hours a day for classes). We have a big family, so there is usually someone else home with the dogs if I'm away.

Safety, trust & environment
All pups run free in the house when we're home. We have a block fence around our backyard, and a locked alley gate. Dogs are only allowed on beds/furniture when invited. The exception is a special chair that looks out to the street. It's a favorite perch! See pics under Ollie & Paisley's profiles. :) Even dogs that are used to being on the furniture tend to adjust quickly to these limitations when somewhere else. **For safety, we crate visiting dogs when no one is not home to supervise interactions, so they must already be crate trained so this feels comfortable and not stressful for them.**

Information Kiara H. would like to know about your pet
Ollie and Paisley are friendly and adjust quickly to visiting dogs, but we only book after a front yard meet & greet, for everyone's safety and to ensure a positive stay. (Important to know for last-minute requests!) They usually bark excitedly for 20 - 30 seconds, then all is good. Please feel free to bring a blanket or towel from home to put in the crate so your dog feels more comfortable, and let us know their usual daytime and sleep routines. We have plenty of toys, bowls, etc. so you won't need to bring those with you. ***Sorry, we don't take pit bulls or huskies. We've had a bad experience with a pit, and one of our kids is very allergic to huskies.***
A typical day
We have 5 kids, and 4 still live at home, so there are plenty of us around to provide love, attention, and supervision. There's almost always someone ready to play or snuggle while reading a book or working on a laptop. If your dog loves to walk, and weather permits, we're happy to go walking. Let me know if this is something you'd like! We take up to two dogs at a time through Rover, and we occasionally have a friend's dog off Rover. **This means there are times we may have our 2, 2 through Rover, plus 1 more.** It's busy but fun!

Pet care experience
We've had a variety of pets over the last 25+ years, including dogs, cats, chickens, lovebirds, fish, and tortoises! Right now we have two lively and snuggly pups, 4 years old, plus 2 cats that make themselves scarce when they don't want to hang out with the dogs. ;) We've been pet sitting regularly for friends and family for the last 7+ years. Meet & Greet - We require a brief meet & greet in our front yard before all bookings, to ensure your pet and our pets are a great fit. Thanks for understanding! IMPORTANT - We crate or corral visiting dogs when no one is home to supervise interactions. They must already be crate trained so this feels comfortable and not stressful for them. Please only request stays for dogs that are well behaved, since we have a big family and plenty going on. All dogs must be friendly with other dogs and with children, and must not attack cats (our kids' cats generally stay out of the way, but some dogs are intent on hunting them down). ***Sorry, we don't take pit bulls or huskies. We had a bad experience with a pit, and one of our kids is very allergic to huskies.*** Fun Fact - We prioritize using non-toxic products for home and personal care. There are no chemical fragrances or toxic cleaners in our home, which could irritate your pet's skin or lungs. ***Please scroll down to see other important profile info. Thank you! :) ***
Reviews

Would rebook. Our dog had a good time and looks like he got play time and ate. Was very responsive to messages and sent photos and updates.

It's so hard for me to leave my little boy but I know Kiara and her family give him so much love, he always looks so happy in the updates I get and when I pick him up. She's great at communicating and I'd definitely recommend her to anyone looking for someone to dog sit.

Kiara and family take such great care of my doggy, Gigi. They send photos and updates and Gigi is always happy when I pick her up :-)
We always feel comfortable knowing our dog is in good hands with Kiara and family when we go away!
