I work as a dog groomer from home so the dogs are with me full time unless I need to pop to the shops! I also limit the amount of grooming I do so I have plenty of time to be with all the dogs. Every dog in my care gets 2 walks a day unless the dogs needs differ (extremely young, old or injured )or weather extremes. I do compete with my dogs on a weekend, dependant on the dogs I’m boarding they are welcome to come with me however if I feel it is overwhelming for them my partner is at home on the weekends for them.

Safety, trust & environment
I have a fully fenced private garden and I live in a very quiet rural area. I have many beautiful walks from my door step so dogs rarely need to go in a car. I have 4 of my own dogs, all of which gets on well with dogs. They range from very playful to enjoying just chilling out on the sofa. As working dogs they are all fairly high energy when out and about but in the house we’re generally quite chilled out. I can provide most things a dog will need however I do not provide food for dogs staying. I am happy to deal with raw food provided I’m made aware in advance so I can ensure there is enough room in my dog freezer.

Information Katie W. would like to know about your pet
I need to know of any special requirements and raw feeding as far in advance as possible. I do have forms that I need filling out prior to a stay so allow time for these to be completed please!
A typical day
A typical day would start with a walk, about 30 mins after we would have breakfast (sometimes these are swapped around) I would normally do a couple of hours grooming while the dogs sleep for a while. When i have finished work we would do some dog appropriate play or training. Then we would have our evening meal, then a walk after dinner. Cuddles on the sofas all evening.

Pet care experience
I’ve have been working professionally with dogs for 11 years as a dog groomer. I have also worked in veterinary care. Dogs are my passion and I train and compete my own dogs mainly in agility at the highest levels. I have competed at crufts numerous times in flyball, Jumping dog of the year(we won) and the Championship class, I have also competed abroad for Team GB. As well as agility I also train fly ball, scent work, trick training and gun dog working tests and trials. I have also now been a fully licensed and insured home boarder since November 2024
Reviews

My dog was a little anxious to start with, but Katie recognised this and worked with my dog to build confidence. I have no hesitation in recommending Katie's care.
