Knowing and understanding an animal's needs is very important to me. Working in a kennel environment, I've learned a tired dog is a happy dog, and a happy dog is a happy owner. I walk my dogs 1 mile daily and would gladly do the same for yours!

Information I would need beforehand includes: Behavioral- reactive to other dogs we might run into on a walk. Whether it be ANY dog or just a buddy from two houses down that your dog doesn’t like. Anxiety- should I leave the TV on when I leave? Training/routines- Do you and your pup prefer a specific routine, or are you open to mixing things up? Understanding your preferences will help us create a comfortable environment for your dog.

I like to "scout" the neighborhood where I would walk your pups beforehand. This allows me to identify the best routes and check for loose or fence-aggressive dogs in the area. Instead of dog parks, I prefer to play fetch in a secure yard or a fenced-in playground. (I can explain my reasons for avoiding dog parks in person.) I can assure you that your dog will be happy when you return!

This was the first time using River and I was really nervous about using a new person. I set up a meeting with Katie and my girls & I had a great time getting to know each other. Katie put my mind at ease by being very involved with me while I was gone with daily texts and pictures. I would highly recommend Katie to anyone who needs a dog sitter.
