My work is almost entirely virtual, so during a sit I’m typically working from your home rather than an office. I’m up early, morning feeding and outdoor time happen at a reasonable hour, and I build my day around whatever your pet needs. Dogs get regular outdoor breaks and I usually position myself where I can see if anyone’s asking to go out. Occasionally I do step out for a mobile appointment or in-person meeting. When that happens I’m typically gone four to six hours at most, and I’m always upfront about it in advance. If your pet needs more frequent attention, I adjust accordingly and limit those outings. Evenings wind down early, so a late-night bathroom trip before bed is always on the schedule. In my spare time I often go on runs or hikes and will happily take your pet along if that's reasonable for them! I’m happy to travel, take extended sits of a week or more, and accommodate last-minute bookings when my schedule allows. I just ask that cancellations come with enough notice that I can adjust my plans.

Sicherheit, Vertrauen & Umgebung
I respect whatever rules and practices owners have put in place and take them seriously, whether that’s garbage day protocols, which door the dog uses, topping up the bird feeders, or putting the patio cushions away each night. I pay attention to the details because those are usually the things that matter most to people when they hand over their keys. My background in veterinary care means I’m not rattled by medical situations or behavioural quirks, and I know when something warrants a call to a vet versus when it just needs monitoring (but don't worry, I'll always keep you in the loop and won't make those decisions unilaterally). For pets specifically, I follow the owner’s established routine and protocols as closely as possible, same commands, same schedule, same rules around furniture or off-limit spaces, and I communicate proactively if anything comes up. If you're training a puppy and you do an hour of practicing new commands every day, I'm there. If you have a senior citizen who needs to go outside 10-12 times a day, I'll make sure my schedule works for them. I leave every home at least as clean as I found it, usually cleaner. If I use the last of something I replace it, and I’ve been known to stock the fridge before I leave. I grew up in a rural country home so septic systems, well water, landscaping maintenance and snow shoveling are all par for the course in my books. I'm happy to handle little home care situations and will always communicate with home owners about things like leaks, power outages, maintenance flags and anything broken.

Please share anything that would change how I approach caring for your pet. That includes medical conditions and medications, feeding schedules and any dietary quirks, leash reactivity or behaviour around other dogs, people, or kids, any history of escaping or resource guarding, house rules around furniture or certain rooms, and anything your pet is afraid of or likely to get into. The more detail you share upfront, the smoother the sit goes for everyone, especially your pet.
Ein typischer Tag
A typical day is built around whatever your pet needs and what works for them individually! Morning starts with feeding, outdoor time, and any medication or monitoring routines. Throughout the day I’m around and available, letting dogs out regularly and keeping cats company as much or as little as they want. If your dog enjoys running or hiking, they’re welcome to join me on outings when it’s appropriate for them. If puzzles, training commands, or specific games are part of their routine, we do those too. In the evening it’s feeding, medications if needed, a last walk or outdoor trip, and an early bedtime because I’m an early riser and everyone benefits from a consistent wind-down.

Reliable Physio with Vet Experience
Erfahrung in der Haustierbetreuung
I’m Katie, a 32-year-old registered physiotherapist with a background in small and large animal veterinary care. Before physio school, I volunteered at several small animal clinics and worked at equine vet clinics, and I’ve spent years sitting for family and friends across a wide range of animals and situations. I’m comfortable with the pets that may stress other sitters out. I’ve managed diabetic cats on insulin, including timed feeding, injections and glucose monitoring. I’ve administered puffers to asthmatic cats, cared for geriatric dogs who needed extra patience around their bowels and bladder, and barn sat for up to 20 horses alongside a pack of Blue Heelers. I follow each pet’s existing routine and commands closely, and I'm happy to respect your own house rules and boundaries for your pets. Whether that's certain furniture they're not allowed on, waiting before meals, certain commands they know (or you're teaching them), or parks they can frequent. You let me know the rules and I will stick to them. I’m a frequent communicator and you’ll get plenty of pictures, the good, the bad, and the ugly. If anyone throws up, has digestive issues, eats something they shouldn’t, or shows any skin changes or odd behaviour, you’ll hear about it. You’ll also hear about the fun stuff, new friends made at the park, happy outings, and any bonding breakthroughs if your pet tends to be on the shy side!

Katie is an absolutely wonderful pet sitter and an even more wonderful person. She is kind, caring, trustworthy, and treats our pets as though they are her own. Katie has cared for our three cats, one who has diabetes and requires regular insulin injections, which is not an easy responsibility! We trusted Katie completely with his care, and she was incredible. She took the time to understand his needs, provided his injections, and gave all three cats the love and attention they needed. They were all happy, comfortable, and truly thrived while we were away. Katie also kept us updated with photos and messages, which gave us so much peace of mind. She has cared for our pets multiple times, and we always know they are in the best possible hands. She is dependable, compassionate, and genuinely loves animals. We cannot recommend Katie highly enough. Any pet parent would be incredibly lucky to have her care for their pets!
