Experienced, compassionate and holistic pet care
I have always been a pet owner; owning a variety of animals over the years, including guinea pigs, cats, dogs, horses, sheep, goats, rabbits chickens, ducks and geckos! I have worked as a professional groom, house & pet sitter, and dog walker for many years; owning my own business, Happy Tails since 2015, which quickly gained a consistent and loyal cliental of contented owners of dogs, horses, pigs and cats. Since moving to North Devon, Happy Tails has become a part time business, as I also work as a director of Youth Theatre, and also paint pet and wildlife portraits. I am confident with all animals, including those with challenging behaviours, and have training in dog behaviour and communication, canine and equine nutrition, and holistic health care. I believe in treating every person and animal with equity, as individuals, and with the greatest observational care, diligence, and of course all the fuss, belly rubs and head scratches they need! I am very conscientious and will look after your pets and home as if they are my own; offering to clean, pick up mail, water plants and anything else you need in addition to prioritising your pet's care and well being! An added bonus is that my wife is a dog trainer, vet technician and veterinary practice manager, and as such have experienced advice to hand immediately! I fully understand the worry that comes with leaving our precious pets, and will communicate regularly with you, sending photos and videos as well as text updates, or calls if required! Your pets will be in safe, happy and caring hands every day, whether they are boarding here, in your own home, for quick drop ins, or fun walks! Katherine was excellent from the outset. Great communication before the stay. I feel very happy leaving our two dogs with her for 24hrs. She provided photos and updates throughout their stay. Would thoroughly recommend.

I am very flexible, setting my own schedule, and can work house sitting, pet sitting, drop ins or walks around your requirements and my own routine! We can talk about what you and your pet need and make a plan that works for everyone.

I care for each and every pet individually, chatting extensively with you to find out all their needs, quirks, favourite things, routines, feeding requirements, and anything else you want to tell me. All animals deserve to be treated with equity, and as such no job is ever the same. But you can be assured that I will always be super compassionate, caring, diligent, communicative, vigilant, confident and reliable, no matter what the circumstances.
