Karen agreed to stay at our house during the nights while we were thousands of miles away on our vacation. Two days into it, we received messages that the bed she was staying on was dirty. She provided pictures of the mattress with a small amount dog hair on it. She also asked if we had bed bugs, which we don't. She found a dead tick, which probably fell off our medicated dog. She left, without leaving a light on leaving my dogs all alone. She came back the following day, agreed to stay in our other room which was made with clean sheets and a mattress cover. Karen then pulled everything off the bed, lifted the mattress and found dog hairs ok the bed frame as well under the mattress. She also said she had been bitten by an insect. Past guests who stayed in both rooms have never received any bites, or had any issues. So this was all a shock to us. Karen then left abruptly leaving our smallest dog out of its crate free to roam the house when Karen was given explicit instructions to never leave the dog alone in the house without being crated. It was such a horrible feeling to be on our vacation with no one to watch our dogs. We had to scramble and get a friend to come over to watch our dogs and then have rover find a replacement. When she left abrubtly, she said that her mental and physical health were at risk and that she shouldn't have to deal with dog hairs or possible ticls. We live in an area where ticks are, so being a dog watcher is a weird job to take on. She also still charged me for a night she wasn't there. She also did not pick up any dog poop. If youre wanting someone reliable to watch your dogs while you are out or on vacation, I would not recommend Karen.

Karen is someone who follows through on every detail. She’s observant, grounded, and very protective of the people and animals in her life. She’s the person you call when you need someone who is going to be consistent, show up on time, and keep a close eye on things.
