I work from home most days, so am here to keep an eye on the pet interactions. We will go out for at least one longer walk per day and as many shorter walks around the yard as needed. My older chihuahua needs to go out frequently these days.

As soon as a new dog arrives, I work with the dogs to establish the pack. We go on lots of walks to get them all acquainted. In the house we have lots of dog beds and toys. We go on several walks each day. Dogs can sleep in the sunny spot near me or relax in another room. My teenagers are good with animals and are excited to help play with and take care of your dogs. At meal times, every dog gets their own space, so they can relax and eat freely and safely. My grumpy old chihuahua takes his job as guard dog very seriously. He will bark ferociously at human “intruders” until you leave and he may bite if approached. He’s fine with other dogs and cats though. For that reason I’ll most likely keep him in a separate room during drop off and pick up for everyone’s safety.

Let me know if your dog has any special needs or behaviors that I need to watch out for. Please label your pets bowls and bags. Please bring a non-retractable lead/leash, food, medications if any and instructions for them, bowl (optional), bed (optional), crate if they are used to sleeping in one. When you leave, please double check you have everything you came with. I have a bad habit of forgetting to send home bowls. PLEASE NOTE that I run an online yoga business from my home. The dogs love to practice yoga with me and sit near me while I'm teaching. I record the classes and post them to my website nokneesyoga dot com. By booking with me you consent to allow your dog to be recorded and the videos posted on my website and/or social media sites and that I can use their images in all my marketing and offerings.

We will go on at least one long walk around the neighborhood and several shorter walks per day. We will have play time and cuddle time. The dogs nap while I'm working or sometimes we nap together. In the evenings we sometimes have snuggle time on the couch. At bedtime I take them out, then they all come in my room to sleep. Some in crates, some in dog beds, and some in my bed. I close the door so my cats can have free reign of the rest of the house and I don't have to worry about cat and dog interactions or about safety on the stairs.

Great with Anxious Dogs

I have been taking care of dogs since I was just out of college, many moons ago. I have lots of experience with anxious, small dogs - I give lots of snuggles and reassurance. I specialize in small breeds and take care of those exclusively. I can give medications, both pills and injections.

Karen is an amazing pet sitter, we trust her implicitly. Our pup gets frequent eye infections and must be treated, Karen noticed he had a red eye and she took him to our vet for treatment. We do not worry while he is in her care which makes our trips more enjoyable.
Karen is amazingly organized and takes fabulous care of Ruby and Albert. She is also great about communication.
My two little Havanese just spent a week+ with Karen, and clearly loved it! She sent photos every day, so I could see them walking, resting, playing, and generally having a great time. They have stayed with her many times when I need to travel for work or for family, and I am always confident that they are in good hands, Thank you, Karen!!!
Karen is the best dog-sitter. We have used her twice so far and Joy always loves her time with Karen - she updated with me photos everyday.
