I have grown up with dogs … from Shih Tzus to Shepherds, toy Poodles to Rottweilers. As an adult, all of my dogs have been rescues. I’ve had some “easy” well adjusted ones, and some dogs with special needs right off the bat such as health care (cancer) or veterinary behavioral care (because of extreme fear and anxiety). Never have given up on any of them. They have all lived out their best lives with me and my husband. And we have been enriched by them sharing their lives with us. My special girl Ziva, who is now approximately 12 years old, was the reason I found out about Rover. She needed someone to drop in and give her midday dose of medication. I lived in Oregon at the time and was a full time teacher. I found the most amazing dog sitter through Rover … I aspire to be as wonderful! Now we live in lovely Lanesboro MN. I am no longer working full time and my schedule is very flexible. I actually would love to find a Rover person near me that I can depend on—but I haven’t had a lot of luck. So I figured there’s probably other pet parents in Lanesboro like me, that could use someone to drop in and spend time with their dogs while they are out. I have experience with medication administration (I do it 3 times a day with our girl). I meet the dogs where they are, comfort level wise… I am patient, kind and caring. All of our dogs have lived to be seniors… big dogs that lived to be almost 15! So I have a lot of experience with senior dogs, special needs and younger dogs.
